Greenport now has its own version of the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles, where there are numerous hot films screened followed by Q&A sessions with the filmmakers afterwards. In addition, they show multiple first-run features, so it is both an on-going film festival and a multiplex at once."

"We absolutely enjoyed seeing "Fly Away Home" at the Greenport Theater. It was interesting learning about the NY Film Institute and we were grateful that there was an interest by local businesses to support the availability of the theater. Another treat was seeing some of the original fixtures in the lobby and elsewhere. We definitely felt a connection given that my father worked there for so many years. There was a nice crowd..lots if children....and it was fun to hear their applause at the end!"
"I really like this theater I have seen 3 movies there this summer. I like that it is old has and character. The bathroom fixtures are awesome! My biggest gripe is the popcorn. It always tastes old. The staff are friendly. I would reccomend this theater just to take a look back in time."
