Reviews
"12-10-2023 I am updating my review - we are switching parishes because as a mom with a young child we are clearly not welcome here. After the 11am Mass was eliminated, the entire demographic of the parish changed and it is not a place where young families can worship without dirty looks and snarky comments for simply existing. Ushers do not enforce the sign on the crying room door that it is meant for children. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14 —— Stop sitting in the crying room if you do not have children. It’s a beautiful, traditional parish. We love Father Luke and the special devotions to Our Lady of Fatima and Padre Pio. I had tears in my eyes when I saw the beautiful new St. Theresa statue. However, there has been some issues when the 11 am mass was removed from the schedule (no fault of the parish). Why would they take away the most popular mass time for families? Now every time we go into the crying room, there are elderly people in there making rude comments or giving dirty looks towards my daughter for making noise and being antsy (that is what a crying room is for - babies and children). A sign was even put on the door that the room is meant for children but it is not being enforced by the ushers and I continue to encounter angry elderly people who seem to think it’s their personal place of reflection. We left our other parish because we were tired of older people being snarky for bringing my child to Mass (also - there was no crying room or anywhere else to go at our old parish - I was so relieved that this parish has one) and now I get to unfortunately experience it all over again. If you do not have a baby or small child there is no reason to sit in the crying room and make mothers with children feel uncomfortable. Some kids have sensory issues and have to go in there to calm down. An usher also came back there to collect the envelopes. He IGNORED my 3 year old trying to give him an envelope and reached the basket towards the single older man sitting alone in the crying room. I don’t understand. Young families are the future of the Catholic Faith and behavior like this just discourages them from attending."
"This has been my Parish since I was a Baby. I’ve received all of my Sacraments here. The Parishioners are Family to me! Our Pastor Fr Lukas is warm and inviting. Join us for Mass"
"Whenever we are in town we usually attend mass here. The shrine outside is beautiful and if you ever have an opportunity to attend mass outside in the summer months, I highly recommend that. At the mass we attend, they have some musicians that are outstanding. We find the new pastor to be very warm and welcoming. His homilies and bulletin reflections are very good. Although we are visitors, we always feel welcome when we attend. We had an opportunity to attend their ministry fair after mass one day. I was really Impressed by the number and variety of ministries available in the parish to help the community in many ways. Although we were not from the area, the people were very enthusiastic to speak to us about what their specific ministry did. Today I just learned, for example, on thanksgiving they actually serve a full meal to anyone who wants it...for free."
"The priest everyone sees at Mass every Sunday is not the Man, that butt dialed me and my husband several days ago. Not a man of his words, or the Jolly Pleasant man he comes off as to his parishioners. I'm extremely humiliated and even embarrassed I called this place home my whole Life. Some people actually want to be there and others are forced by family....me and my husband wanted to be there. Sadly, not anymore. We will take our integrity somewhere else."
"Nice little neighborhood Catholic church and shrine on main road, easily accessible. Large parking area. Unfortunately closed and locked mid morning mid week. Nice outdoor shrine and seating and monuments area"
