Reviews of St. Joseph's Health Primary Care Center - Cazenovia
"The office has become difficult. My granddaughter (a minor) has been a patient here for 4 years and suddenly I am no longer able to schedule an appointment for her."
"Dr. C is so knowledgeable about every concern I’ve ever had. He did a diagnosis for my daughter on the first visit when it took other clinics months to never get it right. I don’t know where we’d be without him."
"The nurses, except for Kevin, who is great, were rude and uncaring to me. I saw Lindsey Byrnes, Pa. My blood sugars were up, so I asked her to do a peer to peer with my insurance company regarding Victosa, and it was never done. She put me on insulin and did not care about my weight gain on it. I started having horrible abdominal pains last year. Lindsey told me she thought I either had peritonitis or appendicitis and to see a specialist. I went to the ER. If it was appendicitis, it could have burst! I’ve never heard of waiting to see someone else when you were in such pain and possible danger. I had horrible pain again about six months ago and went to urgent care and then followed up with Lindsey, who pretty much wrote it off. In July 2023, I ended up in the ER by ambulance with excruciating pain in the same area. I was again referred me to Upstate Womens health. I was told it would be a two week wait before I hear from them, but they would call me - they never did, so I got back to Lindsay‘s office and was given the phone number to call them. They said they would be happy to get me in soon, but my doctors office had to call. I let them know that, but no one ever called. I was instead sent a letter telling me to be patient and wait my two weeks for the call, even though I had waited over a month. This past week, I tried to call to get set up again. I was yelled at by four nurses and hung up on, and the same by a manager! To this day, I have had no biopsy, which I find a be quite dangerous and I think it’s no coincidence that Saint Joseph’s is no longer accepting my insurance as of August 1, so they just constantly put me off. It’s very disappointing and this kind of behavior can cost people lives. I don’t understand why they are involved in the humanities, if they’re going to treat people this way. I’m still in pain with no assistance and don’t know what it is."
"Recently switched to this practice after receiving care from a different practice for 20 years. I was nervous about the switch, but I knew it was time to become my own advocate and receive the care that I deserve. The doctors and staff there are all amazing!"
"Quality of care seems to vary greatly depending on your doctor. When I first started coming here, my doctor was amazing and attentive. She picked up on things without me pointing them out, such as patches of eczema on my skin. Unfortunately she left the practice, and the doctor I was "assigned" to after has been a nightmare: extremely dismissive of any concerns I've brought up, and when she performed a routine pelvic exam, I left the building feeling as though I'd been assaulted. The office itself doesn't seem to encourage annual wellness exams, and if you do go in for one, they do the bare minimum. You basically sit there and verbally answer questions you've already answered on paper. And they don't really update your records, either: I told them I was taking a multivitamin years ago and ever since then it comes up EVERY appointment, despite telling them every time that I'm no longer taking them. They never removed it. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the place at this point. It just feels extremely impersonal and cold."
