"I’ve been a patient at AHA for two years. Half of the times I go the doctor of PA is more than 30 mins to an hour behind. While I understand things come up, this has been a pattern. Today appointment was my final straw. Despite the fact that I’ve had consistent symptoms of PsA the PA and doctor made me feel like I was crazy. They discounted my symptoms, and my concerns. The doctor wasn’t compassionate nor was the PA helpful. This was my final straw. I would suggest you go to Rochester or Albany."
"I find that the care differs depending on who you see. Jennifer LaFrance is AMAZING and so is her nurse and care team. They are extremely understanding and attentive to my health and concerns. Dr. Mtanos is also great but his nurse, not so much. I brought in handicap parking paperwork and the nurse called me and very condescendingly said that I should, and I quote "actually be parking further away so you can get more exercise." On a normal day, sure, but what about the days I can hardly move? Or when I'm at the grocery store and can't finish shopping because of the amount of pain I'm in? I'm not even upset that I couldn't get the parking pass. I am however appalled with how the nurse spoke to me. After my appt with Ms. LaFrance, she happily gave me a parking pass. :)"
"I have read the reviews.. I kind of see a pattern. I get the negative responses.. this is my take. We all seem to have close to the same issues.. like this: we are sick, we have lost much.. energy, strength, in pain.. etc. I think the reason we get frustrated is because we just don't know what is really going on.. and neither will the Dr's until they rule out diseases. And medical staff are in the suffering mode of not enough staff.. etc..I started out with my pcp and here.. now I have 5 different drs. All over the NY.Hold on.. dont get mad.. I am sure there is an office manager on staff. Or someone in charge.. to help with employee issues.stay kind and keep on keeping on.if you need to go somewhere.. just go.. Dr's. Aren't gods.. maybe someone else can figure out and have more experience.. is ok.. what makes the world go round. Look for the good."
"Honestly the best people in this office are in the infusion room. They’re friendly, remember you, and just overall have the best attitudes. The women in the infusion room are probably the only reason I consider coming back. Other than that, I don’t enjoy this place. Originally referred because bloodwork showed markers of lupus or Sjogrens. My very first appointment the initial statement from the doctor was “this is a false positive” and then decided I had psoriatic arthritis because I said I have what looks like psoriasis but dermatologists aren’t diagnosing it. She also accused me of lying because a previous doctor wrote symptoms I didn’t report on the referral. Now I’m on an infusion schedule for the diagnosis I’m not confident in and can’t get anyone to listen. I also had horrible tremors for a month and decided to notify them in case it was something to be concerned about. A nurse got back to me and said they don’t handle muscle problems. Autoimmune diseases can affect muscles for the record. I typically leave appointments with my anxiety flaring up or just in tears. The billing department locks people’s accounts even when payments are made and don’t unlock it until questioned. I had an infusion rescheduled because I was sick but the appointment was never recorded because they locked my account for a bill I was actively paying. Constant bloodwork and infusions aren’t cheap. Insurance doesn’t cover much. I was paying it down each month but it wasn’t enough for them so someone that doesn’t even handle my care thought it was fine to block me from treatment."
