"For so many years I complained to my eye doctor in Syracuse about the film on my eyes, pressure of eyelids on my eyes, and the oils on the eyelids that went into my eyes causing burning. He kept saying it was dry eye but nothing I did improved that. Finally, at the end of my rope, I complained again at my yearly visit and he recommended I contact an eyelid specialist. In June, I saw Dr. Salloum, and told him what had been going on and after examining me, said I was a good candidate for eyelid/brow surgery. On January 5, 2024 I had the surgery. Dr. Salloum came in before surgery calmed me down as I was a little scared. There was nothing to be afraid of, surgery went well. He even called me at home that night to check on me and told me to call his cell if any problems came up. Ten days later I went back for my post op checkup. When you have walked around with film on your eyes impeding your ability to see well, it is like a miracle, now everything is crisp and colorful. The colors are like seeing them for the first time, just so beautiful. I can see the scores on TV, see clearly through the viewfinder on my camera. I can read roadside signs. A whole need world has opened up for me. After cataract surgery in both eyes years ago (because I had the film), I now can see 20/20 with my right eye which is close up and 20/20 with my left that is distance and before surgery was 20/35. I’m in awe that God led me to such an amazing doctor, I can’t say enough good things about him. He is very personable, easy-going, compassionate, kindhearted, a good listener, and excellent communicator with a great bedside manner. If you are experiencing problems with your eyelids, don’t put off calling Dr. Salloum and getting them checked out. This surgery will change the way you see. I’m so very glad that I did.
