"Years ago when I was a young woman I was looking for a church to teach me who I was in christ. Finding this church was the worst thing I could have done. I had hoped to meet like-minded Christians that I could learn with and from and that I could spend time with. The sermons were fairly decent but what goes on within the people of the church was nothing short of toxic. I was told by the pastor and other members that I did not belong there. I was told " this will be a very lonely place for you because nobody will invite an attractive single mother to any functions. Even though you are young , you don't belong with the young people and the married women don't want you in their homes. " I was ostracized. Soon after I went to my first service I was told that I needed christian counseling becuase there was something wrong with a woman who would divorce. I was shamed and belittled within an inch of my life by these so-called counselors. It was despicable and disgusting. Keep in mind that I was a modest and devoted Christian woman at the time. My son was never invited to do anything with the other children and was ignored at the Sunday bible classes. We were treated horribly by the pastor and many of the people. Some of the things said and done to me were so harmful that I ended up going to a true counselor and came to the realization that this church is about control. It is nothing more than a cult controlling its people. I went on to be a very successful and devoted Christian woman .I have helped many young women with the word of God DESPITE what these horrible fake controlling people did to us. I came to realize that God is good but people in churches are not. This church is absolutely wolves in sheep's clothing. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place."

"I attended this church for 25 years. They preach Reformed Theology, and that's about the only positive. The leadership team needs to be replaced. Aside from the new Assistant Pastor, the same people have been in the same positions for years which has allowed for complacency, stagnation, and a refusal to change. If you're an older person, a married couple, or a family with young kids, you may fit with the rest of crowd, if you don't check one of those boxes, you'll be hard pressed to find community. Below is information you won't find on the website: -There are no community groups, and the church had no intention to form them when I last spoke to them. -There is no group for young adults. One existed several years ago, but they let it die off due to ineffective outreach attempts. (or almost non-exist outreach attempts) -A group for high school students technically exists, but the attendance is lack luster. The church's idea of outreach is posting service information in the Grand Island Bee. Reformed Theology is their god. Some in the congregation believe that anyone not Reformed is lost, and the church does not actively or frequently participate with other churches in the area because they are deemed as not Reformed (and guilty of teaching heresy. Cultish anyone?) Additionally, leadership is under the impression that if the bills are paid and solid doctrine is taught, they're successful. I've even heard some say God won't let the churches doors close because they preach Reformed Theology. You may be hard-pressed to move beyond surface level conversation with this crowd, and nowhere does the phrase "frozen chosen" better apply to a group of people. I often found out the most about people at their memorial service after their passing. Again, if you're an older person (60s+), married, or married with young kids, you'll be visible to these folks. If you're single and struggling to find community, please attend another church. All Bible Pres will have to offer you is their sympathies, and prayers, but no actual action to help or community. To put things into context, after I left a total of two families outside of the pastoral staff reached out to check in. If that doesn't show you the strength the Bible Pres church "family" I don't know what does."
