"I highly recommend connecting with this group of Thai monks if you are looking to immerse yourself in a new culture, learn about mindfulness, and be open to new experiences. Piya, in particular, has become a dear friend, mentor, and beacon of light in my life during confusing times. From teaching English to participating in community events, I have had numerous memorable and fulfilling experiences with this group. It is a shame that not many Americans take advantage of this opportunity, as they are missing out on something truly valuable."
"A peaceful, intimate environment for chanting and Meditation. Thai Buddist monks there are welcoming."
"Friendly supportive to personal challenged children and adults. We have taken our children support groups there for great fun and healing smiles. Special occasions Party barn available."
"I took my 10 year old daughter with me and my husband to sparks and it was an amazing experience! In the past i rode western and rodeo so I had experience riding horses and my husband having spent many of his addolecent years in summer camps he also had experience riding. My daughter had none, even though she was a complete NATURAL they helped her but let her lead and ride her horse, blue. We had a wonderful hour ride and we will be spending many of our saturdays at Sparks this summer! The owners , our guide and the horses were amazing! The stabels were clean and the horses well fed! We are so happy we spent the day there."
"I rode here recently with a group. I've lived on the island for years, I know the history of Sparks and had ridden there about 17 years ago and it wasn't in great shape. I went in there tentatively and gave the place a once-over when I arrived. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It seems like he has gotten rid of the "petting zoo", the barn itself and property were pretty tidy, the stalls were clean, everyone had hay in front of their faces, most had shoes on and barefoot horses had good hoof angles. Were some of the horses old? Yes, but they were appropriate weights, very sweet and obedient. Most of the people I rode with had NEVER been on a horse and I've been on trail rides where horses broke into a canter un-asked or bolted back to the barn. These guys were great for beginners. The trails were nice and he has spent a lot of time keeping them dry. Is this a fancy hunter/jumper barn: NO. Is it a nice place to bring beginner riders to hack on the trails? YES. I think people should move on from the past and give Sparks a chance. FYI: my horse experience: professional groom, barn manager, trainer; so I feel I speak from experience."
