"I recently visited the Consulate General of Pakistan in New York to get my NICOP made with my mother and father. The work was done fast and efficiently, which was greatly appreciated. The staff was exceptionally polite and helpful throughout the process. I would like to specifically mention Umber, who was incredibly helpful and made sure everything went smoothly. Once inside, the man working for NADRA was also very supportive and guided me through the necessary steps. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service provided and would highly recommend this consulate for anyone needing assistance."
"Tough luck. Please do better: be professional, organized, courteous. Ran around in circles trying to collect nonsense requests made by the untrained, uneducated staff at the Pakistani embassy in NYC. Went in on time with an appointment (scheduled online) only to be given attitude about how I showed up at an “inconvenient time” by the staff. The credit card machines are down, they don’t accept cash, only money order which can be made at the nearest bank (10-15min walk) or the post office (25min walk). I’m told to hurry up if I want to get my application submitted today. Submitted my application in a room of four grown men who thought carrying their private conversation (laughter and banter) while haphazardly filing my application was acceptable."
"I gave two stars only because the front desk lady talked nicely with me, spoke with me like I was a human being, and I think she felt bad for me. Otherwise I would have given 0 stars to the Pakistani embassy for wasting my time because the officers in the back are quite inconsiderate and literally do not care for others. I tried to call the consulate a day before my appointment to ensure I would have a smooth process today with renewing my passport since I was taking the day off from work. The guy who finally answered the phone the day before kept telling me to go straight to the website for all information. The website stated to bring my nicop, work permit, passport, copies of these documents, to the consulate office. I took a bus and train in the scorching heat to get to the office the day after to my appointment. The front desk lady saw my documents and copies, approved them, moved them along for verification, and then the officer in the back said a work permit is not a legal document. He did not care that their website didn't indicate any of this and kept repeating the rule changed on June 6, 2024. He even said I should know the rule because I probably had heard about it!! I explained I have legal status through DACA and work for the state government and he didn't care. The indifference and heartlessness and uncaring nature that these people show is what boggles my mind. They don't care about anything at all. I understand laws and policies as I work for the state and totally get it. But they way they demean and talk down, as if they're better than everyone else -- I can't take it. Treat people like human beings. Get some extra help and maybe call people the day before to confirm everything is in order to help people have a smooth process on the following day when they come in. Be human beings and at least pretend to be humane. It's disgusting and I don't know how people can be like that. Just because you have a title of an "officer" you think you're better....shame on you. Just put yourselves I'll be reaching out to immigration officials to sort out the mess since I am a legal resident here but that's something YOU guys should do and what you should help people with. I do have legal status in the USA but you didn't even listen or understand. Like I said, I appreciate the lady at the front desk and her demeanor, hence the two stars. But shame on the others for having zero understanding and wasting my whole day that I took off from work."
"The Consulate went above and beyond in ensuring the members of our community were able to obtain Visas in a timely manner for the Ashara Mubarak sermons being held in Karachi. The staff was courteous and professional, and the process for obtaining the visa was seamless. Thank you to all who went above and beyond in helping us get to Karachi in a timely manner."
