"Good contractors are hard to find. My wife and I have owned our home for more than 25 years and we’ve gone through lots of contractors for jobs large and small. Most have been decent and some of them have been good, but Mike stands out as one of the best and certainly the one who has played the greatest role in making our house look better than we imagined. Our house needed a new roof, windows, and siding and we saw it as a chance to update the overall look. Given the size of the job and the hope of finding someone who would be attentive to the details, we began searching for a contractor 8-10 months in advance. After lots of recommendations and leads, we finally met Mike. Folks who recommended him described him as meticulous and that he is! The two other words I would use to describe Mike are creative and thrifty. Once we shared with him our vision for the renovation, he shared with us his. He saw possibilities that we couldn’t even imagine and helped us devise a final design scheme that changed the rooflines, revamped the siding, resized the trim and made our house look even better than we hoped! Everything with Mike starts with the structural elements. Most simply wanted to rip off this and cover over that. Mike knew that much of the work would involve dealing with what was hidden and he did a great job of stripping the exterior down to tongue and groove wood and replacing and fixing everything that most would have ignored or left hidden. Initially, I thought doing so would cost us an arm and a leg, but Mike knows what he’s doing and instead of charging people for his skill and ingenuity, he uses it to help homeowners save money and get the type of quality craftsmanship that one deserves when investing in a large renovation project. Ultimately, what stands out the most about Mike’s work is the fit and finish. One of our greatest worries going into the job was buckling siding and ill-fitting trim. You’ll see lots of newly sided houses that look wavy and cheap. Mike makes sure that everything looks right and if the stock trim doesn’t look right, he designs and crafts different ways of laying things out that look spectacular. Mike is creative, thrifty, and above all meticulous. We couldn’t have asked for a better contractor and if you end up getting him to work on your house, we’re sure you’ll end up counting yourself lucky as well!"
