Pittsburgh Vet Center
About the Business
The Pittsburgh Vet Center is a dedicated community-based counseling center located at 2500 Baldwick Rd #15 in Pittsburgh, PA. As part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, we provide a comprehensive range of social and psychological services to Veterans, service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. Our mission is to support the successful transition from military to civilian life, especially after traumatic events experienced during service, such as military sexual trauma (MST).
At the Pittsburgh Vet Center, we offer individual, group, marriage, and family counseling in a confidential and relaxed, non-medical setting. Our services are specifically designed to address issues such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the psychological effects of MST. We are also equipped to provide referrals and connections to additional VA or community benefits and services.
Our counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, are experienced and prepared to discuss the tragedies of war, loss, grief, and transition after trauma. We understand that life can be challenging after a deployment, and we are here to provide confidential support at no cost.
In addition to our stationary services, we operate 83 Mobile Vet Centers (MVCs), which are large mobile vehicles equipped for confidential counseling. These MVCs bring our services to communities that are distant from existing facilities and are also utilized to support VA’s mission during national emergencies and disasters.
For immediate and confidential assistance, our free 24/7 call center is available at 1-877-927-8387. Here, Veterans, service members, and their families can discuss their military experiences or any other issues they are facing in transitioning after military service or trauma. Our call center team comprises combat Veterans from several eras as well as family members of Veterans.
In FY 2023 alone, the VA's Vet Centers provided readjustment counseling to 115,404 individuals, amounting to nearly 1.3 million service encounters. Additionally, our outreach activities engaged with 162,291 people.

Reviews
"Went for couples counseling. Counselor couldn't stop staring at my girlfriends chest. Blamed all our relationship problems on me while oogling over my girlfriends cleavage.... Thanks for the support..... NOT...."
"I attended one of their Tactical Taco Tuesday events. It was a great time! There were lots of local vets that had served back in Vietnam all the way up to Global War on Terror. The food was good but the company of other vets was great. It always feels good to hang out with people who have been down the road your on too. These people will help you in any way they can. I will be coming back in the future."
"I went there to find about filing a claim. Spent about an hour while Herman answered my questions and entered the information into the system to get the ball rolling. Pretty smooth visit actually. I'll increase to 5 stars when my claim is approved!"
"Called for the first time with a question and the guy hung up on me."
