"They are in need of a competent Project Manager. Also refused to give me a proper floor plan as is against the Law. NY state practices FOIL, as it relates to Real Estate. 6 months after purchase of new construction, still no proper architect floor plan, totally inappropriate and unlawful. SAVO— wake-up!!! This is not a pleasant experience— regret this purchase!!!"

"What a shame that the Mount Manresa project is being held up. Read my letter to the editor on SI Live endorsing this project. New development will be good for neighborhood (letter to the editor) Published: May. 12, 2020, 7:00 a.m. facebook twitter 116 shares By John McHugh The fiasco regarding the Savo Brothers’ home development on the former Mount Manresa grounds is quite unwarranted. Their original plans were approved and the only reason politicians are against this site is political. Do not blame the Savo Brothers, but rather blame the Jesuits for not having deed restrictions on the property to avoid the number of homes that are being built there. The Jesuits wanted to maximize the number of dollars they would receive, so they did not put in deed restrictions. For those that say it is terrible to tear down all those trees, please keep in mind that trees were torn down to build the house you are living in. After construction, the trees will be replaced, and, in years to come, a more bucolic neighborhood will be attained. These new neighbors will add to the neighborhood’s economy, and construction jobs and related construction industries will benefit, as well. Please keep in mind that many people who live on this Island will be working there. I have been on this Island since 1949, and growth is a good thing. I am not in love with all that has happened, but, for the most part, Staten Island has treated many very well. So all I ask is for you not have the attitude that, “now that I have my house, you can’t have yours.” That is being very selfish. What they are asking for will not hurt the surrounding neighborhood and the new inhabitants will be a financial asset to the neighboring community."
"Savo Brothers are Terrific builders. I am going out of my way to write this review. Bought a house built by Savo Brothers in May 2019. In Sept 2021 with the rains of tropical storm Henri we started taking water in the basement -- all over -- basement apartment and our family room in basement (luckily we didn't have tenant in apt). Emailed Savo Brothers. They replied immediately. Leo was over next morning at 8am. Surveyed situation. Leo checked foundation all around. Determined water was ground water coming in because there was no sump pump installed. The foundation of house has built-in French drain system that empties to two holes -- one in closet in basement apt, one in garage. Since there was no sump pumps in these holes, French drain system was being overloaded -- thus spilling out into basement floor all around. Leo had worker come over immediately -- within minutes -- and spend day installing pump and running a pipe thru ceiling of basement apt to the leader system -- which funnels out into storm sewer that was installed to block when Savo Brothers built buildings on the block. (I believe this had to be done before buildings were built on block, and they pushed/did the paperwork.) Worker also double checked (by opening up plasterboard in basement to look at foundation from inside house) hairline cracks Leo saw in foundation which were not foundation cracks but simple hairline cracks in facial stucko. Worker then fixed all areas of ceiling and walls where he had to create holes to run pipe and check foundation from inside. Came back next day to finish plastering. All of this happened with the threat of Hurricane Ida coming within days. Ida came and dumped 9 inches of rain on Staten Island -- flooding the island and many homes. We did not get a drop of water in our basement. I give Savo Brothers highest marks for: a. Design of the building -- the built-in French drain system and also as Leo mentioned, the ground in the backyard is pitched at a good angle away from house so water drains away as much as it can. Plus the building built where there is a storm sewer system. Allows French Drain to pump into that vs a well which puts it back in the ground. b. Their incredible promptnous and also fixing the issue immediately. PS: Ida caused similar water issues to our neighbor and Savo Brothers (Anthony) were just as prompt and fixed their issue as well. Can't say enough. Thank you Savo Brothers."
