"We’ve used Vlad and his crew to combine two apartments into one. It was a 6-months project with attention to details, involved working with independent architect, NYC, members of the Board and building personnel. Vlad made sure that the remodeling went as planned and addressed every single concern we had. He handled all aspects of renovations – from electrical wiring, to installing wood floors throughout, gutting and renovating three bathrooms, building a new kitchen, tiles, recessed lighting and sound system. During the renovations, we came across a few obstacles (appliances did not fit, pipes needed to be moved, cabinets adjusted) – and Vlad was able to deal with these issues professionally and efficiently, without attitude or delays to the final completion day. Vlad has excellent professional skills and can step in to do work for any of his crew members, side by side. He would be the first at construction site to check what was done and point out anything that needed adjusting or finessing, from wall painting to handles on kitchen cabinets. We felt he was personally committed to our project on every level. Vlad spent time with us, going over the designs and talking to the architect to be sure the final product meets our expectations. As a person, Vlad is a pleasant and easy-going guy. It was comfortable to work with him, running ideas by him and receiving timely feedback - more so than with other contractors we’ve used in the past. We can only say great things about Vlad and would not hesitate to use him for upcoming projects and recommend him to friends."

"Vlad did a complete gut renovation of our 1300 sq ft apartment. We were completely thrilled with the project! He took down walls, moved walls, did a wonderful skim coating of all of the surfaces, laid a new wood floor throughout, updated the electrical, built a new walk-in shower and installed a completely new kitchen just to name just a few of the tasks. Over the years, we have completed five different renovation projects. Vlad was by far the easiest and best to work with. He offered valuable design ideas which we implemented. When we requested some changes along the way, he always jumped in and took care of it. He and his crew were diligent, accommodating and professional. We were so pleased with his work that we referred him to friends of ours doing a similar project. They too were thrilled when their apartment was completed on time! It has been 1-1/2 years since the renovation and the apartment looks as good as the day we moved in. We are very grateful and fortunate to have used Vlad for this renovation and would only use him for any future renovations."

"Mixed feelings about Vlad. He is an intelligent and charming individual who is a natural born salesman. Vlad is great at smoothing rough corners and will put your mind at ease as far as the process is concerned. However, his crew is a different story. I could only name two-three people who knew what they were doing, however the rest (which included plasters/painters) should not have been allowed to touch tools in their life. Please refer to the pictures of the horrible examples of plastering by Vlad’s workers. They speak volumes. These areas got visible when lights were installed and when Vlad’s crew was gone. As part of the “client massaging” process, Vlad would tell you stories how he would come back to you 2-3 years after the renovations done and fix any issues that you may have at that time. These stories may or may not be true. But in my case, it was a total hoax. Since I did not recommend Vlad to one of my neighbors and Vlad found out about it, there was no longer following up with me to fix the flaws and stand by his work. Vlad is a busy man and he only paid my project about 15 minutes in the morning. No notes were ever taken, all instructions were given to workers orally who simultaneously handled two other projects in the same building. This caused a great deal of redoing of things that should have be done right the first time. Vlad is taking a position that “it is work in progress” and “don’t worry, we’ll fix it.” We lived next door while our other apartment was being renovated so we were constantly in the mix which didn’t sit well with Vlad and his crew. I get it, they want you to come in when everything is said and done and it is too late to redo anything and you just say “Ok, I guess I’ll live with the door that doesn’t close.” One of the examples was a hallway wall which they installed incorrectly and managed to put it out of level (1.5 inches difference between top and bottom tracks). When I brought it to Vlad’s attention, he ignored it and gave his “I’ll check on it in the morning” answer. “Checking in the morning” didn’t go well since the crew finished sheet rocking the crooked wall. Only when I brought Vlad in and put a level against the wall, Vlad realized that his “boys” made “a little mistake.” If I hadn’t noticed this major flaw, it would have resulted in redoing the wall, reinstalling French doors, molding, etc. If after reading this review, you decide to hire Vlad and his new crew, I would advise you, my brave and cheap fellow, to put it in the contract that Vlad guarantees that there would be 2-3 workers working on the project on any given day from 9 to 5 or whatever the schedule is, because otherwise you will end up with one floor sweeper while the rest of the crew is working on a different project. Also make sure to ask Vlad for a specific time frame. You will be given a rosy schedule of “2-4 weeks, because it is a small job,” but during this time Vlad may or may not get a new project and he has a limited number of workers (half of them are horrible- see the pictures). Lastly, you can only hire Vlad and his crew if you have plenty of free time and can take time of work as you would have to supervise the renovations and catch the screw-ups as they happen and have Vlad’s people fix it. Otherwise, you would have to recommend Vlad to everybody to please him, so he would return to you “after two years” to fix his crew’s lousy work."
