"We used NV Contractors to build our paver patio last year and then again this year for a second paver patio + trees. "We had an unpleasant experience with Nick the owner from NV contractors. His mannerism when dealing with customers in the face of difficulty was very unprofessional. We hired him to run some pipes in our yard connecting all the gutters to the storm drain and installing a catch basin in the middle of our driveway as that’s the bottom of the property. The objective of installing the catch basin was to make sure all the excess water from the yard and the driveway would go there and get routed to the storm drain. I had concerns with installing the catch basin from the start as I wasn’t sure if there would be enough pitch to the city storm drain. We already had a yard pump taking care of the driveway water and the excess yard water which we were looking to replace by installing catch basin so another sump pump was not the plan. Nick guaranteed that there will be enough pitch to the storm drain, gravity will do the work and there wouldn’t be need for any pumps. He digs the property, installs the catch basin and then realizes the city storm drain is not as deep as he had thought. Any professional with experience would not have overlooked this critical step. He then lifted the catch basin to create pitch causing a big hump in the middle of the driveway. With the surface of the catch basin 2 inch above the grade of the driveway, the catch basin was non functional. His solution was to spend another 17k+ to redo the driveway immediately to drain the water out. After much back and forth contemplating different solution we had no choice but to put a simple channel drain on the driveway and decided to leave the yard pump as it was. He removed the catch basin and installed the channel drain. We could have overlooked it as an honest mistake. But instead of being humble by the mistake, his back and forth with me was condescending and dismissive. At this point I decided to let him deal with my husband solely. We paid him the full price per the contract. After all the work was done and money was paid, we realized Nick’s team mistakenly misaligned the gutter causing water to pool against the foundation and more importantly cut off the electrical wiring to the yard pump. When we notified Nick, he was in no hurry to correct the 1st mistake and completely ignored us on the 2nd. Overall we found that he was very quick to demand the payment but took his sweet time to correct the mistakes. I also want to add that Nick and his team left our yard in a very disturbing state even though he promised us extra dirt and leveling before we signed the contract with him. There were tire marks everywhere for weeks. The place where he dug a dry well, he did not cover with soil. With the heavy rain, the water was pooling everywhere. His solution to the problem was waiting several weeks to dry the land with no concrete timeline when a simple rake could have solved the problem. Considering there was no clear communication from him on the timeline, we hired a second professional and spend thousands of additional dollars to bring the property back to what it looked like before."
