"DO NOT GO HERE! First things first, they closed on the Friday before memorial day with no postings about it online anywhere besides the front door of the building, gee thanks! Second, the Town Clerk office has absolutely NO clue what they are doing. We went to get our wedding license form and brought the worksheet form (from the Town of Clay office website) with us and filled it out 100% correctly. They made rude condescending comments about the prefilled form that we did it wrong when in reality they did not understand their own form! To add to the rudeness of these individuals, we received our marriage certificate completely wrong. My wife’s information only had her name, AND even that was wrong!! We called and got them to send another one with the information fixed and guess what!?!? That didn't arrive in the mail so now it's been two weeks without the certificate we should have had wayyyyy sooner. Not only did we not receive the certificate, but it was returned back to the Town of Clay office and when we talked to the office about it they rudely put the blame on us, even though the first marriage certificate was received just fine by the exact same process. NONE of this is OUR fault! AND to believe you have to pay $40 for this process and on top of that another unnecessary trip to the office... My wife drives down to the office to then be greeted by more condescending rude comments about how the first certificate was not wrong. MY GOODNESS READ THE CERTIFICATE ITS HALF BLANK!!! She, I think her title is an Assistant or Deputy Town Clerk, then finally realizes that it is incomplete and wrong. My wife then receives the updated certificate, but guess what!?!? MY WIFES NAME IS STILL WRONG!! And when she tries to get it fixed, you guessed it more rude and uncalled for comments about how we are wrong, we don’t need our form to be correct, blah blah blah blah blah… I can not believe this lady is still working here. After talking to my wife and having to give her a pep talk to just confront this horrid person again to do their job and fix the certificate, she finally corrects the information, but first she has to talk behind my wife’s back to her other employees and remind my wife that the information is unnecessary and can remain wrong! :) Just wow… UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE!"
"I have had several interactions with the Town of Clay over the years, from infrastructure hearings to dog licenses and more. They are professional and have been helpful in responding to questions and requests for direction. Chelsea, the town supervisor, was particularly helpful with an unusual question. She researched it for an answer and called me right back with help."
"Today was my first time going here. The minute I walked in the door to the minute I left, everyone was great with their help."
"I called about a unknown ticket. The young lady was rude and over talking me when I was trying to explain to her I never received correspondence so this was unknown information. But I wanted to handle it asap I don't ever have priorities slipping so as I was trying to ask for the directions she continued to over talk me about how there's nothing she can do and the amount needs to be paid. I said to her excuse me I was past that and was trying to ask your location and address so I can come handle it asap. She was extremely rude and unfortunately she was the only one there to speak with. Customer Service was not a priority for this young lady, and phone protocol was not given when speaking to customers. I think she needs to be retrained."
