Reviews
"No parking, just find a spot off of the road. There will be quite a bit of thru-traffic. Walk down the gated roads to check out the creek and the old Black River Trout Farm ponds. Met a couple of guys who were trying to snag some brown trout from there, not sure if they got lucky or not. Across from the Punkeyville State Forest sign, you can do a brief bushwhack up a very short hill to a logging road (go left; right is private, very well marked though), which links up to a network of old logging roads from the property's time as a pine plantation. You can also do a quick bushwhack over to these roads from the various berms created to keep vehicles/ATVs out (which hasn't worked in a big section to the west of Irish Settlement Rd). Overall, good place to camp in a pinch or if you'd like to avoid the crowds. Even though it's clearly a dumping site for some, practice LNT here and dispose of your waste properly!"
