"Great place to camp and fish. They've updated the camping areas about a year ago with fresh gravel and new pad areas for tents. All of the camp spots are on the water, save one, #13. 13 is a great spot for hammock camping with all the trees available. Go in the shoulder seasons and avoid having to get one of the free permits. Mind, there are no Porta Johns during this time. So, bring a shovel for a cat hole! Bass and chain pickerel abound. A small boat launch is available for canoes and kayaks. I believe small boats with trolling motors are allowed. Check the DEC website for boating particulars, however. Again, hit this place during the shoulder seasons, very few people, and the fall foliage is spectacular!"
"We love this place!"
"This is a great place to get away. We needed an overnight camping spot and knew of this DEC area. Asking for and receiving a free permit for one of the camping spots couldn't have been easier. This area is very well maintained and very easy to access."
"Love it here. It is very clean and well kept. Plus I love how it is free to camp, but that a permit is needed. That way, you are able to reserve the spot like you would at a paid campground. We stayed at site 2, which is right next to the outhouse. There is not pond access from this site, but there is a small trail that gets you close. Otherwise, the site is flat, spacious, and has a picnic table and fire pit available."
"Beautiful park, not sure I should talk it up, it could make it less accessible in the future. Anyways, you do need a permit to camp there, but that was easy enough, and camping is free. There is a boat ramp, but NO CELL SERVICE!"
