"Beautiful short trail through maritime forest leading to Flax Pond beach via newly constructed bridge. Beach is simply gorgeous and relatively secluded, beautiful views of the Sound and pond on both sides. Parking for 6 cars is available with NYS DEC permit (free of charge but requires perseverance to get it). Paying attention to timing of high tide is important since trail could be muddy or flooded in section after the bridge."
