Liberty State Park Park & Ride

"Safe, affordable, convenient lot right off 78! Super large park & ride lot that can accommodate over 1200+ vehicles. I’d say it’s pretty well utilized but never super packed that you can’t find a spot (maybe 50-65% utilization during workday?) Right next to the Liberty State Park light rail which can go both north and south bound (easily get into downtown in 10-12 mins to take the PATH into the city). During the weekdays, trains usually come every 5-10 minutes. Evenings and weekends you might wait up to 15 minutes. Also easy access to get back on 78 towards 440/95/1/9 (entrance to highway about 2 mins away) This is one of the safer lots in my opinion, area is quiet & there is always private security patrolling 24/7 and occasionally also the transit police are in the area Costs recently went up but still very affordable so it’s about $4/day or $68/month. Weekends are FREE! DAILY: make sure you park in the south side of the lot where the spaces are numbered (you’ll need this number to pay at the kiosk). Note that you CANNOT prepay for multiple days, only one day at a time or monthly (kinda a bummer because you have to physically pay daily at the kiosk there—would love to see new capabilities in their NJ Transit app to pay for parking) MONTHLY: you can park in the north side closer to the light rail station. You can purchase monthly pass about 10 days in advance of the month start (usually say the prior month’s day 20/21 you can purchase next month)—monthly passes only for purchase at kiosk as well and it will dispense a tag to hang (not tied to a certain license plate so can switch out if driving different vehicles) Pics of some fun train etches in the waiting area for the light rail"

"On a Saturday, a friend and I parked over there as we headed to New York using public transportation. To my surprise, parking is free over the weekend. A nice surprise, for a change. When it comes to parking expenses in the area, free is always welcome."

"Super tiny parking spots right on top of each other. And they can't be bothered to repaint the numbers - it's impossible to read majority of the spots numbers. Yet the price is still the same and they still have constant parking maids circling the lot making sure you paid for a spot whose number you can't read."
