"Parking was ok had to find a spot then go in and pay needed to get my rest done. Showers.... booked a shower at the counter was told I'm next( they have a 30mins limit on showers) waited over a hour then was told no one can get a shower because somebody parked their truck in a place it didn't belong???? How does that effect the shower???..then had to prove where my truck was before I was allowed access to the shower"
"I’m not going to rate them to bad based on their attitude, it’s a New York- New Jersey thing, they have to be aggressive, the biggest issue is locals reserve the parking space and go home for days, there’s no free parking at all, the app says 3, that turned out to be a lie, 30 minutes max for shower is not enough. My biggest fear is, is it safe to park and leave your truck for a few hours and not get broken into, I have had my CPC module stolen ones in California and ones in Houston Texas in a pilot truck stop"
"This was the absolute worse when I say worse I mean worse I must emphasize WORSE!! Truckstop experience I have ever had in my 4 years of driving. The lot is not that big and parking spots are hard to come by as expected it is New Jersey. I was lucky to catch a spot as a driver was leaving around 6am truckers will still try and take your spot even as you're trying to back into it. I immediately reserved my spot on the app as I normally did seeing I've driven all night and had no reason to enter the store. About a hour and a half the lot attendant comes banging extremely hard on my door. She doesn't greet me or simply ask did I pay for my spot or not she yells at me I can't park there for free and I got to move and threatened to tow me. I just looked at her the whole time im holding my reciept on my phone in my hand. She escalates the situation and gets the police involved acting as if I was a freeloader or something. I show him my spot purchase on my phone he says just go in and get the reciept to put in the window. The woman curses me out in front of her manager while I'm getting reciepts and the manager tells me I have to move because according to the lot attendant someone was there before me but could not show me proof that he was. Their app apparently doesn't work properly because if all reserved spots are taken I shouldn't be able to purchase a spot period. Thank goodness the officer saw me pulling in that morning and validated my parking and found the other driver a spot where someone who actually hadn't paid was parked. I go in for a shower they drill you about where you parked and did you buy a spot today when you answer their questions they act like they don't believe you when everything is verifiable in the system if there were any questions or concerns. They only have two showers and they make you wait up front till the shower attendant come gets you but get this the showers are timed!!! I couldnt believe it you only get 30 mins to shower I would at least need and hour to shower and groom myself so I had to rush and do what I could. The Dunkin Donuts is there but not open. No good food to eat customer service is trash if you come here good luck. I will shout out security they were fair and the best part of this terrible experience."
"At first, when I read the reviews, I didn’t want to go there.. but there’s nothing to do when you have cargo to New York.. What can I say guys - it’s not all that bad! in this industrial area this place is like an island for tankers! Yes, there are few parking spaces - but the area is not large, in a pinch you can stand along the road - it has its own exoticism)) The staff tries to keep everything clean and tasty, and so it is! you just need to try to avoid pickup deliveries to these places, but if this happens, then this Pilot will not let you down!"
"The usual underwhelming PILOT experience. When they were still open on the previous night when I arrived, THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE WERE GREAT. So, I’m not blaming them. I’ve been dealing with PILOT across the country since 2014 when I started driving tractor trailers OTR. Since June of 2022, I’ve been driving a LARGE Sprinter cargo van, expediting as an owner-operator. They’ve always been below the standards of FLYING J, TA, PETRO, etc, IMHO. The only one that’s been raising the bar is LOVE’s. The “express” must refer to it NOT BEING OPEN 24/7. No hours of operation are posted on the doors. Very disappointing. However, there is no other truck or travel stop available in the immediate Newark, NJ, area. I would’ve had to go all the way down to Bordentown for LOVE’s, etc. AND PARKING IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. So, if you absolutely have to park in the area, get here EARLY before parking is filled up. This includes the combined auto (cargo van) and bobtail area. VERY TINY. Be well and Dios le Bendiga, Siempre!"
