Reviews of Whitehall Borough Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
"My mother was a patient here in August 2023 for about 3 weeks after breaking her hip. She was left in the bathroom unattended and called for someone for 30 minutes. She finally tried to manage on her own and fell. Multiple times, she was denied her pain medication, told by staff they were weaning her off it. When we questioned the Nurse, she claimed my mother didn't ask for it. They ignored symptoms of a serious medical issue, telling us my mother felt "woozy". The 3rd week she was there, her roommate was diagnosed with Covid. They never mentioned it to us, or took any precautions which resulted in not only my mother getting Covid, but also me getting it. They quarantined her by closing her door and assured my brother that they would check on her every 30 minutes. The following day they called us because, at 7:00 am they found her on the floor in her room. She was admitted into the ICU at the hospital with Metabolic Acidosis and Covid on August 29th. Today, a year later, I am still receiving a bill from them for Sept and October (2 months that she was no longer there). Horrible treatment and liars."
"Physical and occupational therapy were great.nursing staff for the most part was horrid. I fell and had both a nurse and aides cuss me out..my catheter was removed and no one checked to see if bladder was working went over 12 hrs with bladder full and I was in pain.. had aides who were on phone and not speaking English.was cussed at by aide was advised I could not bathe myself because I was to inept..met and discussed with no one my discharge...they physically gave me my prescriptions instead of sending to pharmacy knowing I had no way of getting to pharmacy..was a horrible experience and considering calling dept of aging based on treatment ...food was awful...was either under cooked or cold..watched my room mate suffer in pain for 2 hours because no one would tell nurse she was requesting medication same aid that cussed me out"
"Was talking to my parent over the phone. Overheard a aide speaking very unprofessional and disrespectful to her. While I was addressing the behavior she walked out of the room. Currently awaiting a phone call from the DON. Why work in an environment when you have no compassion. Treat customers like you want your own family to be treated. Very disappointing."
"Whitehall Borough SNF is horrible in every way imaginable. The formula for this place is bare minimal care. * Completely disorganized care. * No one is accountable. * Indifferent nursing care. * PT and OT that do the bare minimum. * Inedible dietary. * Social workers that acts as agents for insurance companies. You will find that your loved one will typically not receive scheduled meds, often lay for hours in soiled and urine soaked garments, not be assisted when calling for assistance, and give up on recovery. There are no activities for patients. There are no phones in rooms. Most rooms do not have a sturdy chair or recliner for patients. Run in the opposite direction from this hell hole."
"This facility is horrid. My mother was transferred here from a major spinal surgery at her request because she had used it when the location was Manor Care. Once she arrived she felt the room was not clean, she found what looked like bugs in her bed and the staff was combative even though she had found bodily fluids on the pillow cases and dust and debris on the bed. Once I arrived they were still absent where I had to help her in and out of bed and to the bathroom which I don't mind helping but seeing as I'm a man and it's my mother it isn't the most appropriate thing for me to take her to a bathroom. When I arrived to the facility, I found my mom hysterically crying clinging to the bed talking about being in excruciating pain and the nurse finally came to give her a pain pill instead of helping with the bed or finding a better solution. At the direction of her on call doctor I requested the nurses station arrange a transport back to the emergency room which a rude nurse scoffed and stormed away when I asked if they had any idea of how long it would take seeing as I had to keep her calm because they were doing NOTHING to help her. Nor the elderly woman who she shared a room with even with numerous times requesting help through the call buttons. I would never send someone to this facility."
