"I typically don't leave reviews, but my experience at this salon has been quite interesting. Their customer service is great. I felt welcomed, and they're really polite, even when I called to complain about my hair cut. So it's not an issue of good customer service, but rather, I got stuck with a botched hair cut. I went in for my regular trim, and I asked for layers. My hair looked fine before I left the salon after they styled it. I chose not to separate my curls before leaving because it was a Saturday, and I had a headshot scheduled for that Monday. So I wanted to maintain the style until then. Later that week, I notice my hair didn't have layers that were blended correctly AND there were still split ends that they didn't cut off. The hair had two layers, a short one and a longer one with no hair in between to transition through. it looked awful. I called and let them know of the issues. They were understanding and respectful. They initially told me I could go in for an adjustment the following week, but after I pressed them, they offered me an appointment the day after I called. On the second attempt to fix the problem, they STILL didn't cut my hair properly. The two sides are uneven-- something I didn't notice until after I left the salon. I think I didn't notice because they only cut my hair during the adjustment. They didn't wash or style the second time. Now, one side is literally longer than the other. The layers on one side are more blended than the other. This is the second time I get my hair cut at the Edgewater location and have an issue with how they do it. I got my hair cut at the Cliffside Park location and LOVED it. Now, I have to go to another place to fix the issue they caused... and pay money again to get even more hair cut off to fix something that should've been right on the first time. I didn't even bother calling them a third time. It just seems silly at this point."

"No knowledge of Type 4 hair. Inadequate knowledge and experience of how to service Type 4 hair. The stylist Stephanie poorly distributed product through my hair and also applied two different products at the same time not allowing one product to be raked through before applying the second. I was rushed out of the salon. My hair had poor definition, no shine, and no hold. It didn’t even last through the weekend. On top of this their hair dyers do not work properly. I had to inform the staff twice that the air wasn’t even warm of which they replied “if we turn up all of the dryers, they will turn off.” I sent an email to the owner Valerie, sharing my feedback of my experience to be told that I have hair damage and my hair is dry in response. She is disillusioned and in denial. She invited me to share my review on Google."

"Brought my 10 year old daughter here for the first time. She wanted to cut her hair short and wanted a new look. She had long curly hair so I knew I had to take her to a salon that specialized in cutting curly hair and Jersey Curls did not disappoint! My daughter loved the entire experience. Our stylist, Stephanie, shared lots of tips and tricks on how to care and maintain her beautiful curly hair. 10/10 recommend this salon for all my curly haired girlies."
