"The intellect of tuina massages has always impressed me. I have been dealing with shoulder tightness after a surgery last year on top of that. Mia, my masseuse, took it to a new level. She didn't have to ask me about my tight spots because I could tell she knew the body incredibly well and could easily tell when she got to a knot or tight area as she would spend more time. For example, when she went to stretch my bad shoulder, she stretched a little, then released, worked some additional manipulation and kneading and then went back to stretching after loosening it up. I highly recommend Mia to any athlete, runner, or person who sits at a desk for hour on end. Every problem area - including a tight hamstring which has been putting pressure on my knee - she found it and released the tightness in my glute which was the root of the problem. I'd go everyday if I could. Top notch experience. They deserve more tips."

"Rant of the day: After throwing a huge birthday party for our son yesterday, the wife and I went for a well-deserved foot massage to de-stress. We went to Footies Spa Inc in New City. While the massage itself was very relaxing, we were very displeased with the front desk lady forcing us to tip what they wanted us to tip. We got an hour-long foot massage which was $45 each and we tipped just over 20% at $10 each. But that was not enough and they demanded we tip $15 each. She brought out a “suggested tipping chart” which shows $15 as the minimum amount to tip, regardless of the massage price. In order to avoid conflict, I said, sure I’ll give u an extra $10…but we didn’t have any more cash on us, so she demanded that we use our credit cards for an extra $10 (she actually charged me $12 instead bc of credit card fees). She was not letting us leave unless we tipped their price. We discussed a bit about how tips are suggested, not to be demanded. She didn’t care one bit. We were absolutely disgusted with her behavior. Needless to say, we will never go back and if any readers do decide to go, just wanted to warn you to bring extra cash for the mandatory tips. The relaxation that our massage provided was ruined by that experience. I would recommend Lin Lucky Foot Spa instead where we’ve always had a great experience, clean rooms, and reasonable, friendly staff."
