"Great hike on the Ridge Trail overlooking the canyon and river."
"Nestled within the lush wilderness of Tug Hill, New York, Rainbow River Falls beckons adventurers with promises of natural beauty and tranquil serenity. Embarking on the hike to the falls, I found the trail to be pleasantly easy, suitable for all skill levels. However, the anticipation of witnessing the majestic cascade of water was met with disappointment upon arrival. Despite the effortless hike, the lack of prominent views of the falls detracted from the overall experience. While the sound of rushing water hinted at the falls' presence, dense foliage obstructed any clear sightlines. This absence of a breathtaking vista left me yearning for a more rewarding conclusion to the journey. That being said, the journey itself was not without its merits. The tranquil ambiance of the forest, punctuated by the melody of birdsong and the rustle of leaves, offered a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The trail meandered through verdant woodlands, providing glimpses of the surrounding natural splendor. Despite its shortcomings, Rainbow River Falls still possesses potential for an enjoyable outdoor excursion. With some improvements to trail maintenance and perhaps enhanced viewpoints, it could evolve into a more rewarding destination for nature enthusiasts seeking to reconnect with the great outdoors."
"Trails are always beautiful. Many were very overgrown and without a machete nearly impossible to pass."
"Really great place to run. Nice flowing single track. Superb views and great waterfalls! Trail was a little wet, but was absolutely enjoyable."
"Snowshoed the Oak Rim Trail in mid February. The trail was relatively easy going and well marked. Most of the trail runs along the edge of Inman Gulf providing many good views of river and the waterfalls. Good for a quick day trip. The Oak Rim trailhead/parking area is accessible from Williams Road. However, it is a minimum maintenance road, so it is not plowed in the winter time. After snowfall, Williams Road turns into a snowmobile trail, so you will have to park near the intersection of Williams and Route 177 and walk in to the trailhead (approx. 600 ft) if you want to snowshoe it."
