Reviews of ST Foreign Auto
"I took my TR3 that I’ve had for over 50 years here to be redone and boy did they do it right. They rebuilt everything from the engine, transmission to the wiring harness. Top notch work."
"Do not recommend!! They are charging $140 a hour for terrible work. First time I brought my car here I didn’t get it back for over 3 months! When I did get it back I had to bring it right back in 2 days later because the original issue was never fixed! Took about another month to get it back just for the original issue to never get fixed! $6000 later I get my car back for the second time to STILL HAVE THE SAME ORIGINAL ISSUE I FIRST BROUGHT IT IN FOR! The owner Sam also charged me $6000 as well as charged my extended warranty company for The same parts he was charging me for. Luckily I reached out to my warranty company in time and they sent me the $1,800 check that they were gonna send Sam (the owner of St foreign auto) for the covered parts under my warranty. Don’t waste your time"
"I laugh as I read the reviews for ST Foreign Auto. Looks like you need to stand in back of a long line to file a complaint against these clowns. And a reoccurring theme plays constantly; another repair shop rip-off. I have nothing to add, previous former customers have said it all. I’m fairly fortunate, as he only cost me some of my valuable time , and $125 detailing as my newly painted car was left out in the weather and birds. Imagine when I had had enough of the lies and deceit, I find my beautiful car with two flat tires and dead as a door nail. After much back and forth, I was awarded the entire amount I have deposited. Advice to anyone considering repairs from Sam the Sham and his forty thieves: just don’t. But, if he smiles and tells you “I will have your baby running like new again!”, make sure to have your attorney on alert, and have all papers for small claims court ready to file. The contempt I have for this place would fill the Carrier dome. If I had the time, I would start a campaign to put this con artist out of business. Frankly, I’m surprised with all the negative experiences recorded against him, I am shocked the city of Syracuse has not shut him down. And sadly, he always has a response that makes it seem it is the customers fault. He should rename his place “Bernie Madoff Motors”."
"They tell me the instrument cluster doesn't work because I used jumper improperly. The voltage was too high then burned the cluster inside. They say they need to buy a new cluster which is over 2k dollars. I dont believe it so I pay 200 dollars and get my car back, then go to another auto repair shop. After simply reconnection, this cluster works again.Considering looking for help from SU legal service. #############update_1############# reply from owner: "We don’t know what was done to your vehicle to make it work but I know in order for us to warranty our work, the proper procedures have to be met." my reply: obviously, your proper procedures didn't work. My friend's reconnection made it work again. my question: You stated the cluster was shorted out in diagnosis, why it can work again?"
"Review amended 8/12/18 with new information. My 19 year-old daughter took her recently purchased 2004 Mercedes ML350 here. She had been told by a mechanic where she bought the car that it needed a LF tie rod and RR control arm. She gave ST this information and asked him to determine and perform any work needed to make the vehicle safe - tie rods, for example, but not shining up the headlights. He determined she needed only rear sway bar links and RR trailing arm with ball joint. He did this work, along with a state inspection. We asked about the tires and he said they were fine. One month and under 400 miles later, she went off the road in wet weather and hit a tree. She is in a neck brace both otherwise OK. The car had $1500 in damage. Two different mechanics (3, if you count a member of my family who is a mechanic) said the vehicle was badly out of line and the tires so bald as to be illegal. This baldness happened in one month and under 400 miles. When she took the car to another mechanic for new tires and post-accident repairs, this mechanic refused to put tires on without doing an alignment, and he said he was unable to do the alignment without replacing the tie rods because they were too rusted. So, it seems ST's judgment about needing to replace the tie rods was badly mistaken. His judgement put my kid at risk, and cost her more money than she had. I did go visit him halfway through this sequence to see what I might have misunderstood. He said, "There is nothing I can do for you.""
