"We got there on a Saturday night and were told they needed an exact count and everyone had to be there. So once my friends arrives we weren't allowed to go upstairs bc it was too small. So why were we told to wait for our friends? Customer service wasn't great. Then someone from our party went up to see and they said it was empty! The servers at the restaurant downstairs were chatting with each other. No one was accommodating. Never going back. Terrible experience."
"Excellent cocktail bar. The environs were on point, the cocktails were well thought out and made. Was a weekday, so not sure if lent to the music being below average. Did not order food, cannot speak for that. Would visit again."
"Been here twice: previously got a table but this weekend went for the bar. After a mishap with reservations one of the three hostess was kind enough to offer the bar area for my party. Thank goodness for people like her. The two other hostess provided no solutions and just blank stares. I was extremely grateful to her since we were here celebrating promotions and new jobs. The bartender who took care of us that night was extremely likable coming through with amazing recommendations and even making two bartenders choice that my party and I absolutely loved. The highlight of the night were the mussels and the last words cocktail suggested by the bartender. The cast iron sweet plantains were also good. Initially I wasn’t too sure because they werent ripe enough (i was expecting Latin style maduros) but they definitely grew on me. We ended the night with an atole flan which was such an oddly satisfying choice, again another suggestion by the bartender. The bar area was amazing for us that night, not to crowded. While the music wasn’t too loud and low lit ambience was great. Will be returning to try more food and of course more cocktails."
"Underwhelming experience here after waiting months to get a reservation. There were zero whiskey cocktails on the house specialty cocktail list, so I asked for a bartender special that was spirit forward whiskey with herbal flavor to it. What I got was an overly sweet brunch cocktail that tasted like grapefruit and definitely was not spirit forward. My friend enjoyed her smoked old-fashioned and the tuna and guacamole was good. Our server didn’t check in much and we would have ordered another round if she had come over within a reasonable amount of time. Also the ambience seems to be confused with some nice classic touches and some gaudy neon accents. I see what they are trying to do but it doesn’t quite work for me. I always enjoy the main restaurant cocktails and pizza, so I guess I’ll just stick with that. I was really hoping to have a good speakeasy nearby."
"Very small room with only a few tables and couches, with an equally small cocktail list. But the cocktails were soo good. We had the Honey Tea, Sicker than your average and Hard not to love. Enjoyed all of them, but the honey tea was the favorite. The food menu is the same as the blue steel restaurant- the basil gnocchetti and stuffed mushroom pizza were delicious. The music does get louder as the night goes on, which makes it harder to hear conversations, but I would definitely recommended"
