"This location doesn’t know how to honor reservations. They would take your prepayment but would have no car for you when you show up. Like in an old Seinfeld episode, but in real life. Wasted 4 hours because of them and ruined my day. Hasn’t happened to me ever, even in remote locations and third world countries, but this what we have NYC for."

"If I could leave 0 stars I would. These people are thieves and you should think twice about renting a car here. My experience was that I prepaid for my car through a Car Rental website. 5 day rental - paid $520 in advance (mileage included) all paid. I had to pick up my car a little late due to travel changes. I called Avis to check that this was ok and was advised this was not a problem as long as I picked up the car within 24 hours of the original booking. No problems there. Arrived and picked up the car and was advised the car was prepaid. Allowed a $250 deposit to be taken for tolls and other possible expenses. Arrived back with a full tank of petrol and early before the drop off time. Was told everything was fine. They were friendly and I was not advised anything. Imagine my shock a few days after I returned home from my holiday when I found they charged my credit card an additional $860 without any explanation. I have contacted customer support numerous times and have been advised a few different reasons for the extra charges. First was it was for mileage. Showed them my voucher which included mileage, then they said it was for an upgrade - they didn’t have my car and gave me an equivalent- no mention of an upgrade. So then customer service have advised my that it’s because I picked the car up late. They appear to be sticking with this as the reason for the $860 on top of my $520 original payment. This is just theft. If you like being lied to and stolen from these are the guys to rent a vehicle from. AVIS you should be ashamed for both this action and your customer service team’s response as well"

"City parking is in the same garage . I have had issues with the guy at the front for a while . I’ve stopped going there and found another garage . Every time I would pull up in the am he would be sitting on the chair on his phone, he would wait for me to drive down the ramp and then say that it’s full. Without fail. I would ask why wouldn’t he put a sign before we come down so we don’t have to back up turn around get stuck . So apparently others had issues with him too and he had an issue with taking cash from people. He doesn’t seem that he like to work. I came this am to park for work and he proceeded to tell me I need to roll my windows down before I come and that he’s not taking my car anymore because he doesn’t like the smell. He continued to raise his voice telling me he’s the manager and that this is his garage and he won’t take my car. He’s been trying not to service me since I’ve been coming here to park and it’s draining. Now it’s a smell. At this point he’s HARRASING ME . I’m ready to file a report with the police. The guys at the night are so much better and nicer. This guy needs a new job. He ruins days first thing in the morning . It’s upsetting"

"Don’t rent here. Your reservation won’t be honored, or they’ll give you a car with no gas in it, or there won’t be anyone at all at the counter. You can try their other locations but apparently Avis has no idea how a telephone works, so good luck contacting any of them."
