"DO NOT leave your car here. Incredibly rude, they just repeat the same thing and don’t listen to you, charge you extra if you drop off anytime after they close (no key drop off as was mentioned by hertz staff) so you’re forced to pay for parking even though it’s THEIR lot … makes 0 sense how they operate their business here and should get with the times as this is manhattan and people don’t have time for their bull"

"This was by far the worst rental return service I have ever had. The staff was rude beyond belief and on top of that they added full day fees for the car being dropped off at 2:15 pm instead of 1:30 pm. When I explained I was on track for time and there was an accident on the bridge that slowed down everything, they weren’t willing to compromise even a little, and were incredibly rude and dismissive during the conversation. Those fees amounted to $300. I will no longer use hertz from this experience. Dud"

"I had the worst customer experience of my life at this location. I have been renting from Hertz for many years at the Lafayette St location. On Dec 10th, 2023 nobody showed up at the Lafayette St location so I couldn't pick up my rental car. I Uber'ed to the 21 E 21st St location - got there about 745am. The man behind the counter was rude, not interested in helping and he didn't care about the fact that nobody was at the other location. I wanted to rent a car from this location but he said he didn't have one. He just sat there and picked at the band-aid that he had on his finger and didn't even give me the courtesy of looking up for the entire time I was speaking to him. I asked him for his name and he refused to give it to me. He said he didn't have a car so I ended up going to an Avis location, rented a car and had a wonderful experience.This guy shouldn't be customer facing - this was my first bad experience at Hertz - stuff happens but the indifference and rudeness he showed was really bad."

"We reserved a car through the Hertz website and they sent an email like few days before the reservation to confirm my check-in. We went on a Sunday morning at 8AM and it was such a breeze. Their small office is right down the building’s parking lot. The staff was quick and easy to deal with and only ask me to sign and pay. The car was ready and clean. We weren’t specific which car we like to book. We only chose manager’s option in the website and we were provided with Honda CRV 2021 model which was sturdy on the road to Chicago. My husband and I were in and out of their office for a good 6-10mins. I definitely recommend this branch."
