Enterprise Rent-A-Car

"We have rented vehicles in the past from the Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Oakland location always with excellent results. Sadly, our most recent visit in May 2024 was far less than the 5-star rating experience that we expected. On May 1, 2024, my wife and I came to Enterprise since she had been in a minor accident, and needed a rental car, while the auto body shop had her vehicle. We clearly explained to their customer service representative Daniel who appeared to be very knowledgeable that we had a $30.00 maximum daily rental allowance through our auto insurance company NJM. He offered us a choice of (3) vehicles within the NJM price range. We chose a 2023 Nissan Rogue. We were never informed that the Nissan Rogue's daily price was $42.24 per day which exceeded the maximum amount we were covered for through NJM. We were led to believe that the Nissan Rogue was in the mid $20.00 range to rent per day which was acceptable since it was under our $30.00 maximum allowance with NJM. Daniel placed a temporary pending charge of $320.68 on our credit card and said it would disappear once the transaction was complete, leading us to assume NJM would be paying the entire bill. We kept the Nissan Rogue until May 15, 2024, and promptly returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas as we had been instructed to do. One day later I noticed a charge on our credit card from Enterprise in the amount of $310.17. They had already charged NJM $450.00 for the vehicle rental, and the balance owed we were expected to pay. I feel that if Daniel had clearly stated on day one when we met him that the Nissan Rogue was priced higher than our insurance would cover, this credit card charge would have come as no surprise, but that unfortunately was not the case. As a good, and repeat customer, I expect full verbal disclosure up front as to what the insurance will pay, and what we would have to pay out- of- pocket, especially when a vehicle is actually priced higher than we expect. I am extremely disappointed that this happened considering every other vehicle rented from Enterprise in the past, whether from this location, or the one in Wayne were always fully covered by NJM. I have already contacted NJM to increase our rental coverage to $50.00 per day so that a fiasco like this never happens again. The only thing that I expect is honesty and truthfulness from your employees, and nothing more. If a vehicle has a higher daily rate than what we are covered for, I want to know that information upfront so we are aware that an out-of-pocket expense will occur. I did speak to Eric the manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Oakland who did listen to my concerns, so that an incident like this is never repeated. He did state to me that he would see what he could do to possibly help rectify this situation. If something positive comes out of this unfortunate experience, I will be more than happy to revise this GOOGLE review."

"So the staff is Great, I always rent from this location because Katie and the other are helpful and accommodating. They all have great personalities. The cars are always sitting at a good price. I personally use it as my personal car has very high mileage and isn't as reliable as it could be but for a truck to have 280K miles it is just enough for farting around town. I rent when I take my son and his friends to sporting events because no one wants to put other people's children in danger and God forbid I break down on the GWB.... I know that the Cars I rent from this location I am in a reliable well priced car for a day or two and check-in and out are always quick with Katie and her Crew... Thank you guys for being Great!!!"

"They were excellent. The Oakland office is where I rented vehicle. There was no charge for the rental as it was paid by other party's insurance. My car was legally parked and empty when hit. Enterprise picked me up at body shop to initiate rental and drove me back to body shop at conclusion of repairs. They also upgraded vehicle approved initially by insurance company to be a similar vehicle as my own. They also handled the insurance company approving the upgrade."

"Had been having car trouble and frequently needed to rent a car through insurance and also without. I used this branch each time and they provided fast and convenient service. The entire staff was very accommodating in answering all questions and alleviating any concerns. I will use again in the future for any of my car rental needs. Happy to have this branch locally."

"Rented a Nissan Sentra - black, wasn’t washed, all white from salt. Fixed their tire that was leaking air. Emailed the staff, said the manager has to take action, I stopped by them again after their failure to communicate electronically, here comes Eric the manager with a bucket, said we cannot reimburse your out of pocket! I Noticed that I'm not only one who has reviewed this branch and had an issue with the tire! I have emailed my info to what the owner replied with and we shall see the outcome here!"
