Reviews of Toscana of Cooperstown
"I called on Monday at 6:40 pm to make a reservation and asked for a table of 20 to follow my sister in law’s wake on Wednesday. I was told that they could accommodate us. We showed up and to our surprise they had no reservation for our party. I showed them the call I made at 640pm with their number and a 2 minute call on Monday and the gentleman’s response was “well you’re not in our book, sorry”. To show up with my family after such a tough day to be told we can’t help you was absolutely the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Another couple came outside and told us that they had the same experience last night for a party of three. Absolutely no excuse for this. I spoke with a gentleman and he confirmed my reservation. How do you tell a family sorry we can’t accommodate you on such an emotional day?!. No real apology and don’t even attempt to help us. Disgraceful. Kudos to Upstate Bar and Grill for accommodating us at a moments notice, they deserve your business not Toscana The restaurants reply to this post is not truthful. More concerning they avoid the truth and don’t even take responsibility. One more reason to choose one of the many other establishments in the area"
"Cozy atmosphere good for couples and families with kids alike. Very attentive service. Food was very good with many choices. Pastas fish salads were all good. Nice wine and desert list too. Probably the best place to eat in the downtown area."
"Really great place for awesome Italian cuisine. Very quaint and cozy little restaurant, tucked away in Cooperstown, NY, across the street from the Baseball Hall of Fame. My wife and I ate lunch here while on a motorcycle trip and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great, friendly staff and great food."
"Very good food, decent prices and great sized portion for the pasta and veal parmigiana. Feel like this is a must when visiting Cooperstown. The steak was of good quality and cooked perfectly. Wine suggestion from the staff was excellent as well. Staff was friendly and even recommended fireworks after dinner which we would have missed if it wasn’t for the suggestion."
"If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. My wife and I walked in and asked for a table. Though they were clearly busy and backed up on reservations (which we didn't have), the owner found us a table. Our server, Patrick, is easily in the top five servers I have ever had. Attentive, friendly, conversational. We did not have to wait for a drink or an order at all. He wished me luck in my baseball tournament and made sure our daughter (less than two years old) had enough to eat and drink. The food was stellar. I had the special, a NY strip. It was the best steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli and was in heaven. We both cleaned our plates. Next, the desserts. I ordered the cannoli, which being from NJ, I have a high standard for Italian desserts, which they exceeded by leaps and bounds. The wife had tiramisu, which she absolutely crushed. All in all, on a scale of 1 to 10, this was easily a 25."
