"This place is an absolute joke. I've had issues before, mostly with the disorganized grill and bagel lines, but today was a mess. I came in with my dad, and we were helped by a young employee with curly reddish hair who clearly didn’t want to be there and looked like he’d rather be at home playing Xbox. I placed my order, and he didn’t write anything down, which at first had me wondering how good this kids memory really was. Sure enough, the wrong cheese was on the bagel, and the eggs were completely undercooked, with the whites still runny and gross. When I went back into the store to fix it, the same employee admitted, “Yeah, I knew I messed up the cheese,” and then brushed me off with, “You don’t have to get so pressed at me, bro.” That kind of attitude is unacceptable in any retail business. Not once did he apologize or say he was sorry, because if he did I wouldn’t be leaving this review. Instead though, he did the opposite and was disrespectful to a customer simply because he was embarrassed. Bagel Boss, you really need to step up your game, hire people who actually care about their jobs, know how to make a simple BEC, and get rid of the ones who act like they'd rather be anywhere else but in your establishment."
"Updated post: 4/4/24 - I'm most happy to say that Bagel Boss has done it again! Today they made my mom a delicious Philly sandwich on a plain bagel (b/c of her egg allergy), and I had their superb signature RRS Crash fried chicken cutlet sandwich which is now my favorite! I also got 2 dozen bagels (plain, poppy & sesame) to go. They're terrific, very tasty. Looking forward to going there again soon. Thank you for excellent food and a wonderful staff! Kudos to their manager as well! Original post: 3/13/24 - Kristin helped me today, 5+☆'s (she also helped me back in January). Very friendly, kind, extremely helpful, patient, understanding (my mom has an egg Allergy & she took the time to inquire which bagels had no eggs in them). Today, after a 5 hour stress test doctor visit, my eyes were spinning, but she remained patient & understanding. Delightful customer care! Next time I'm around Bay Shore, I'll make it a point that I stop there again! Thank you! Sincerely, Keith"
"Just moved to town yesterday and this was my closest bagel spot. Got 2 egg sandwiches for my wife and I. Halfway through eating them we noticed it tasted a little off so we opened the sandwich and saw some green. I decided to go back and ask for either new sandwiches or a refund. As soon as I explained what was going on I got nasty looks from the person helping me stating it was just green dye and the bagel was fine. I replied sure, it could be dye, but it still tastes funny and we only noticed the green after the taste. The dye thing actually made more sense while being in there and seeing the multicolor bagels, but we still knew it was way off from the taste which I continued to explain. After that 2 other people came forward and started speaking a little loudly to me saying I was wrong and there was no way there was mold. I explained for probably the 4th time I understand but it could be something else because of the taste. They continued to tell me how wrong I was and that I should just eat what was there so I said they could just keep what was left and walked out. There will always be issue with food here and there, it happens and if it was just that I wouldn’t even do a review. However to get yelled at and told that I’m wrong in public when I was trying to be as reasonable as possible is crazy to me. I’m starting to see where the short guy who was berated in a bagel boss was coming from. If they picked on me over an honest complaint I could only imagine what they did to that poor guy before the camera was rolling."
