"I recently suffered some water damage from hurricane Ida to a few of my high end leather shoes and boots. Specifically, a pair of my brand new and unworn Allen Edmonds Shell Cordovan boots were caught in the water and appeared to me at the time to have ruined the boots. My boots (which were originally brown) were covered in a white residue due to the oils and salts from the leather rising to the surface. I honestly considered throwing them out because they looked so bad that I wasn’t sure if I could save them on my own. However, after googling cobblers in the area, I found a local shop—the Cedar Grove Bootery, based on their 5 star review, and decided to see if I could salvage my boots. I took my boots to the shop that day (with low hope) but from the minute I walked in, I had a good feeling. The shop is very legit and from the high end shoe care products to the old school machines I could see in the back area, I knew this place was run by a professional. The owner, Leroy—who is a very cool and hip guy, said he’d have no problem fixing up my boots. The very next day, Leroy called me saying that my boots were ready for pickup and told me that he had brought them back to their original condition, or even better. I was a bit skeptical, but when I went in the next day to pick up my boots, I learned why Leroy has a 5-star rating online. This man knows his craft and is a true professional. My boots actually look brand new again. Needless to say, I have found my go to cobbler going forward. I highly recommend the Cedar Grove Bootery for anyone who’s looking for a cobbler…Leroy will not disappoint. I only wish I had taken pictures of my boots before Leroy worked on them to show their condition before he got started, but below are pictures after he worked his magic."
