Reviews of CJ’s Seafoods
"Absolutely the best Alaskan Haddock shipped from Massachusetts cooked to perfection in peanut oil for the most crisp bite Deliciouso. Every Friday"
"The fish I received smelled very fishy, which means it was old. I had to throw a whole piece away because I bought two dinners and an extra Haddock. I wish I had ordered more onion rings because those were delicious."
"Haven't been to CJ's in ages. I was right around the corner and it's Friday! Perfect timing as a fresh batch of fish was just coming out of the deep fryer. One piece to go. Perfect sized serving. Hot and tasty! Cost $5.75. Sorry no picture, to darn hungry when I got home. ( I added my own slaw style salad)"
"I called to place an order for my mom and I. We are not at all from the area, but were looking for something to try. The first time I called to place an order, I waited for about ten minutes on hold and was hung up on. The second time, I was placed back on hold for another fifteen-twenty minutes. The girl who took my order did not sound very professional or caring towards me being on hold. (Though you could hear how busy it was in the background. I tried to be understanding towards the situation.) I ordered a pound of haddock and macaroni salad. When my order was read back to me on the phone, she said "one pound of... fish", which made me question if she put in for the haddock or just some random fish. My order was done when I got there which was convenient. Cashing out was quick and the cashier was very pleasant, whether she was the girl who took my order on the phone or not, I'm unsure. My mom and I found a place to park and eat before heading back home. Sure enough, the order of "fish" was not haddock. Neither me nor my mom could figure out what kind of fish it was. It was okay, but I didn't even end up eating very much of it because I was disappointed and kind of grossed out that I had a mystery fish dinner. The macaroni salad was delicious though. I was pretty surprised for a place that seemed so busy. Maybe they were just TOO busy, it was a Friday afternoon, but for a first time customer, coming from two hours away, it's not a great experience to have."
"CJ's is in a rather awkward location, but the food is definitely worth risking the tail end of your vehicle backing out onto a busy section of Teall Ave. This place reminds me of places in New England where you queue up, place an order and watch it being made. They write your order on a paper bag into which it goes once it's complete. The place was jam packed on a recent Friday night but service was fairly quick and the food was hot and delicious. I wasn't thrilled with the clam chowder, though. It was too thick and had few clams and too many potatoes. The fish and chips were great, though, and the onion rings wonderful. Check it out!"
