"My ring took about two weeks to arrive and when it did, the center stone was loose. I sent it back two days later and it has been almost three weeks and they just inspected it and sent it to the jeweler to be fixed. A one month turn around is a little long for a loose setting. It also really sucked that the stone was loose on arrival. EDIT- it took about five weeks total for the repair. The ring is gorgeous. One little caveat though. They say they’re an online company so it takes a while for repairs, however, since they are an online company I would expect better information prior to purchase. I had to return the wedding band because it didn’t fit (same size) and didn’t sit flush against the engagement ring. I specifically asked customer service about this exact ring pair and they said they would fit together. Nope."
"WORST experience of my life. Received my ring on January 5th, by March 23 a stone fell out of the setting. It wasn’t even 3 months in before a stone fell out. I work from home and take extra good care of my ring, made no sense as to why a stone fell out so quickly. I sent it back from Canada for repairs, and it’s been sitting at US customs for the past WEEK and still hasn’t been cleared. My engagement shoot is coming up and no ring. No one should have to live in fear of wearing their engagement ring. I asked if I could change the ring completely so that I wouldn’t have to worry about the stones falling out of the setting and sending it back and forth. Plus fact that a stone fell out only 1 month and 2 weeks after the 1 month exchange window closed, but of course the manager was extremely by the book, and barely had any remorse. I was told I can’t exchange the ring and the only way I could was if I paid double of the diamond price to upgrade. I regret buying from this company and if I could give 0 stars I would. Let me also add, if your buying from Canada, when the ring arrives back in Canada, you must call fedex to “self clear” in person, or else you’ll be changed the $700 duty fee again with no refunds."
"I am an overseas buyer. I ordered two rings - a 5mm titanium and a 2.0mm platinum. James Allen shipped the rings fast and they arrived in perfect condition. The price is very reasonable and I think the rings worth every penny. I am very satisfied with my purchase. I wholeheartedly recommend James Allen."
"I have only left about 2 reviews in my life for certain companies. This review is definitely needed. I bought a beautiful engagement ring in May of last year with insurance. I proposed to my gf in July and everything was perfect. 4 months in, the stone setting got bent. We didn't think much of it, but we decided to call and see if we could get it fixed. Due to it being near Christmas time they said it would take about 5-8 weeks turnaround. We decided to wait until after the holidays. During February, we decided to send it back and also resize it to a half size down. We were told this would take 3-5 weeks, And it would be covered due to the insurance. We received the ring back 5 weeks later and immediately noticed something was not right about it. First thing we noticed was a diamond on the band was missing, then the main stone was crooked, then the ring was oval shape, and one side was thinner then the other. They also decided to lower the setting so now the ring is not flush on the finger. In other words, they completely destroyed the ring. We decided to take it to a local jeweler to see what they could do, they basically confirmed everything wrong with it and even more issues. They basically told us, we need to fight for a new setting or a brand new ring because no repair would ever fix it to what it was. After this embarrassing consult, I decided to call and speak with a manager. The manager had barely any remorse and was extremely by the book in terms of getting it fixed. I explained this does not need to be fixed, it needs a new setting, and I was told they would need to review it but can't guarantee a new setting. Overall, the customer service was terrible for the price that was paid for the ring. We ended up going to a local jeweler and getting a new setting to replace the destroyed one because we did not want to send it back for it to come back destroyed again. It was a unexpected purchase but now we feel much more comfortable in what we have. I highly recommend if you decide to by a ring, make sure you get the exact size, and something supportive, because their "repair" standards mean nothing. I was going to have a good friend of mine buy from here as well, but immediately told him to stay away. Please purchase with caution. If I could give 0 stars, I would."
"Magnificent beauty! So gorgeous, definitely one of a kind! Amazing quality and craftsmanship, and it looks even better in person. The ring comes in a very fancy box, and shipping was very fast, considering it first had to be crafted. For reference: the ring is 18K yellow gold, with a 1ct center diamond - G, VVS2, ideal cut, ring size - 5.5. I am in love with my ring, so much sparkle that I can’t take my eyes off of it, and I get lots of compliments! James Allen has exceeded my expectations!"
