Reviews of Mount Nittany Medical Center
"My L&D floor experience was horrible. When I gave birth at this “facility” the nurses were nothing but rude. I asked for an epidural immediately when I got there and it took hours to receive it, the anesthesiologist was horrible and rude, yelled at me because I was in pain and dangling extremely far off the ground and expecting me to feel safe like that while having me leaning forward during painful contractions and feeling like I was going to fall off the entire time. when he got done placing the epidural, I heard the nurse tell him that they waited to call him because they expected me to give birth immediately(even though my water didn’t break and I was 4 cm dilated) I will never give birth at this facility again. Also, on discharge day I had a LHU student not be identified as a student to me(found this out after hearing them have a conversation at the computer) no one asked my permission for this student to touch me, the nurse just had her do it and the student ended up hurting me by pressing/squeezing to hard while checking the fundus. It caused me pain that wasn’t there previously. Then the student removed my IV without Gloves!!!! Also, these nurses like to push pain meds on you! Honestly I was barely in any pain and honestly didn’t need the pain meds, but they pushed them on me. “Are you in any pain?” “No” “ were you in pain perviously” “Yes” “rate the pain” = Then they give you pain meds for pain that doesn’t exist anymore!!! My 1st experience at this hospital wasn't all that great either but not as horrible as the 2nd time around. My 1st experience on L&D I woke up the next morning to be told I was given Pitocin while I was asleep. No one woke me and told me. I was not informed until after I received the medication through my IV, how does a nurse give a person a medication without consulting them 1st, maybe I didn’t want it, i have the right to refuse and the right to be informed!"
"Contacted the digital imaging department to get a copy of my latest MRI scan and they were super efficient and said they would have the scans ready in 15 minutes. I couldn’t get there until a couple hours later, but they were there and ready when I went to pick it up. Thanks again for making that a smooth experience."
"Was there 12/30 of 2023, just now got a bill for $200 for an ER visit. Funny thing is, I recall that night being SUPER busy. 12 hour wait(I believe) for a room. People were already waiting for a room when we got there. I was taken back and “triaged” then sent back to the waiting room and was told that it would be that length of time to wait. So here’s the scam. They just triage everyone without rooms being available and just slam them with $200 ER visit bills? Absolutely unacceptable. Wasn’t treated. Barely seen. $200. How many others that night got scammed ? I appreciate the nurses and medical staff but the billing side needs their heads examined. Pathetic."
"I usually don't bother with reviews but had to for this place. I came in a few days ago in chronic 10+ pain and these doctors , nurses , and staff were so wonderfully attentive . Like most emergency room visits it was a long day ( about 6hrs ) , the ER isn't a primary care office with a 30-minute to hour guarantee. However unlike most emergency visits elsewhere, this one took care of me every hour and it only took about 2hrs after triage to get into a room. The triage unit especially was phenomenal! They were efficient, listened , and got everything situated almost immediately. The place was clean and well kept , and the knowledge of the physicians was great! Though busy the doctor took time to explain everything and really listen to each patient including me. By the end of the visit my pain level was down to a 2 or less. I would 100% go here again for another emergency room visit."
"i usually don’t have the best experience here with younger staff but today was definitely a change in pace. i had stopped in due to excessive vomiting in my third trimester and the nurses and doctors that i had were wonderful! turned out to be something super non concerning baby wise but i just wanted to make sure and they made me feel reassured that i wasn’t wasting their time and a good idea to stop in. i want to specifically say Dr. AnnaMarie Costlow was exceptional! she was super personable and we could see how busy she was running around but that did not stop her from putting my care first and trying to find the cause/remedy. thank you Dr. AnnaMarie, you really made me feel heard and understood!"
