"Buyer beware. Bill ondeck is the worst landlord I’ve ever had. I stayed at 909 California ave, the California apartments for a year a month. He never answered his phone when I was there and severely neglected his tenants. The pipes broke on my to my bathtub a few months in so him and his Bob the builder brother Dave came in, ripped a huge hole in my bedroom wall to gain access to the pipes and never fixed the hole. I had to put my dresser in front of it to hide it. And that was only the beginning. The elevator in that building constantly brakes in the summer. I actually kept track in the month of August it was down 24 days out of the whole month. Also there is no permit in the elevator like you see in every other one I’ve been in. I don’t know if that’s legal, just putting it out there. Skip to may 2021, I move out, leave the keys in the unit on the 29th and the couch’s were left because the building manager said they are hand-me-downs that have been in the building for years. I’m obviously not going to take them. He charged me for that, when I left $50 for the guy that I was told takes that kind of stuff if you pay to take them away. He also charged me for moving out 7 days late. I told the building manager and sent her photos of the keys in the unit and the money I left in the unit. I cleaned and vacuumed before I left also. Then, he sold the building apparently a few days after I left without telling even the building manager. He told the new owners that I moved out because my dad had a house in the country that he needed my help to pay off. That was a complete and utter lie, I left because the building is full of low life, drug addicts that are going no where fast, with the exception of only a few. He also charged me for repairs he did on the wall from us using command strips, but he didn’t do the repairs. The new owners did. Find another place to rent. Never rent from bill and never trust him."
