"This place was great! My Bella had a growth in her mouth. Dr. Prescott was amazing, she is very knowledgeable and kind-hearted. The surgery cost was quite reasonable, and I felt like my dog was in good hands! I would highly recommend this establishment."
"Our experience at OVDS was very positive. From my initial talks on the phone with Crystal, to all of the staff we encountered, everyone was friendly, caring and accommodating. Prior to surgery, Dr. Prescott thoroughly explained her diagnosis and planned procedures and took time to answer all of our questions or concerns. They even sent text pictures of our dog during her recovery time to let us know how she was doing. Typically, I am very apprehensive about a pet going under anesthesia, but with Dr. Prescott's extensive knowledge and experience...I understand she trains other veternarians about anesthesia procedures...I knew Chichi was in the best of hands. I was impressed that Dr. Prescott gave us her personal number and sincerely encouraged us to call her if we had concerns, even after hours. She seems very dedicated and really cares. I would definitely recommend."
"When I took my dog, who had serious periodontal issues that eventually led to removal of his teeth, this business did not follow the protocol they themselves had set up as well as charging considerably more for their services than most other vets. I was very disappointed by the services I received, both in outcomes and value. I was aware that my dog would need extraction of many teeth and I decided, rather than using my regular vet, to find a specialist in case he required additional treatment. Many of his teeth were loose in their sockets and his gums were clearly receding, I chose this particular vet thinking that since they advertise themselves as canine dental specialists, I would be getting the finest care. I made it very clear at the first appointment that i was not looking for a mere cleaning, but a more comprehensive procedure. Our initial visit confirmed the diagnosis of periodontal disease, inflammation, and infection, (obvious and my reason for making the appointment with a specialist) and the vet recommended removal of many, if not all teeth and a deep cleaning of any teeth that might remain after surgery. It was noted that bones/tooth sockets in my dog's jaw might require cleaning after removal and, possibly some removal, as well. Surgery was scheduled and approximately four hours of the vet's time was set aside for my dog's surgery, or so I was told. He would, of course, require additional time post-surgery for recovery from anaesthetic and for the veterinarian to observe his condition. The price ranged quoted was dependent on the number of extractions and amount of anaesthetic, but could be in the $5,000.00 range. On the morning of the surgery, I dropped my dog off, confirmed details with the receptionist, since the vet was not in the office, and signed their generic paperwork outlining that he was there for extractions, examination of bone, and cleaning of any remaining teeth. I was reminded that surgery could take several hours and that they would call with updates and a time to pick him up. When I heard from no one by noon, I was not overly concerned. By 2:00PM, though, I tried calling. No one picked up the phone. I started calling and texting, with no response. By 5:00, which I assumed was normal close of business, I went there to see what was happening. You can imagine my anxiety. When they led my extremely groggy dog out to me, no extractions had been performed. None. Zero. No teeth had been removed. He had been there for hours, but only taken into surgery in the late afternoon, according to the vet tech, and would need to be carefully watched until the drugs were out of his system. By me, at home, not under the vet's care as planned/expected. The vet was not present to speak with, having already left for the day. I had to pay for the cleaning before I was allowed to leave with my dog. All that was done was a dental cleaning. Not one single removal. Despite the plan we had agreed upon - and that was confirmed that morning! - no extractions were performed. My dog had a mouthful of very loose teeth which had to be very obvious to the vet during the cleaning, yet rather than address this, she merely cleaned them and did nothing more. I demanded an explanation for this change in plan, but the tech said I had to speak with the vet. Over the next two weeks, I called and texted with no response. I wanted an explanation and I also wanted to be reimbursed for the totally unnecessary cleaning or at least be assured that, when/if I brought him back for extractions, this amount would be credited to my account. I was never given a reason. The vet never contacted me, despite repeated attempts on my part. I was never reimbursed. I was told that the paperwork I signed obligated payment and that the cleaning was a legitimate expense, despite the fact that those 'clean' teeth should have been removed. In the end, I found a better vet to perform the extractions for a fraction if the cost and now that the loose teeth are gone, my dog is in no pain and is in great condition."
"Dr. Prescott and staff are top notch! When traveling far to care for your loved one is an uncertain territory, you want your beloved pet to be cared for an that exactly what Dr. Prescott and her team did. They completed a root canal on our beloved Leo and kept in constant communication with us. When we got there we knew we’d be in Columbus for a few hours. When we walked in, we discussed the procedure and what to expect. They were very detailed and caring. While we were getting ready to leave, they gave us a paper with all sorts of things to do while we were visiting the area. We are forever grateful for Dr. Prescott and her staff as they took care of our Leo. Leo is doing great!! Thank you, Dr. Prescott and staff! I would highly recommend!"
"Amazing staff that truly cares about your pet. I will always come back to them for any dog dental needs! We had a tooth pulled and it was done very fast and recovery was decently fast for Two-Tone."
