About the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie, located at 7180 Perry Highway, Erie, Pennsylvania 16509, is a welcoming and inclusive place of worship that fosters community, spiritual growth, and social justice. Under the guidance of Rev. Kristina, the congregation offers a variety of services and programs that cater to individuals and families seeking a meaningful and supportive faith community.
As the summer season winds down, the congregation looks forward to its traditional Sunday trip to Chautauqua on the last Sunday of the season, which falls on the 25th. On this day, there will be no service at UUErie as Rev. Kristina will be speaking at the 9:30 AM service in Chautauqua. Congregants are encouraged to meet in the UUErie parking lot at 8 AM if they wish to carpool, or they can join the group directly at Chautauqua.
From June 30 to September 1, the Sunday Services committee will present "Summer Lite," a series of less formal and sometimes experimental services designed to help attendees relax and recharge. During this period, UUErie may suggest visiting other congregations, either in person or virtually, as they do not host blended services in the summer.
The congregation is united in its mission to study and practice morality and religion through the lens of growing thought and the noblest lives of humanity. They aim to be helpful to one another and to promote truth, righteousness, and love in the world.
Music plays a significant role in the worship experience at UUErie, with Jackson Froman playing the concert Steinway on most Sundays and accompanying the choir. The choir's repertoire includes the "Welcome Song," “Whoever You Are,” composed by Hal Walker with lyrics from the Welcoming statement of the Jefferson Unitarian Church in Golden, Colorado.
Youth are provided with a safe and nurturing environment to explore their beliefs in a meaningful and responsible way through the Sunday morning classroom program.
The congregation also offers facility rentals for special events. Their Sanctuary, Social Hall, Kitchen, and Meeting Rooms are available for use, and they take pride in sharing their well-maintained building with the Erie community.
Additionally, UUErie hosts a memory café, a gathering place for people with dementia and their care partners to relax and enjoy conversation, refreshments, and entertainment in a supportive environment.

Reviews of Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Erie
"Everyone is welcome. It is a peaceful sanctuary with many smiling faces."
"Great place to grow up. Great people."
"I moved into the area about 4 years ago and with small children, I was looking for a community of like-minded people and a place that would help me answer some of the larger questions in life. Luckily, I’ve found a wonderful place where we feel loved and respected. They are very involved with the community and have given us a sense of family (being that we are so far away from ours). They have a great religious education program that includes all religions and really puts the focus on being a good person. We’ve made many friends here and I look forward to the many more we will make."
"Great alternative church, where everyone is invited to come"
"We love this church. Caring, kind, welcome supportive community who give to the community. Open-minded of all viewpoints, free of judgment. LGBT friendly! Beautiful building- beautiful souls. We feel at home here."
