Reviews of Chase Bank
"I called to request notary service, and the lady I spoke to refused to provide the service I needed. It was evident that she doesn't understand the PA notary rules, which we confirmed with the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries. When I requested to speak to the branch manager, she blatantly refused to transfer my call. It was clear that she was aware of my intention to report her poor attitude to her supervisor. To make matters worse, she kept me on hold for half an hour, only to inform me that she would neither transfer my call nor share the branch manager’s information. This behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional."
"You’re better off going to Walmart to cash your check as Walmart employees are more competent than your average bank teller. I legally changed my name and no—just because my fiancé and I have rings on our finger does not mean it’s a marriage license. I changed my entire name, folks. First, middle, and last just to clarify. It’s a name change document, not a marriage license as the lady incessantly kept calling it (even though I showed her). So not only does she not listen, but she’s also illiterate. Moving on, a gentleman helped me afterwards to proceed with the name change in his office. He didn’t help me either, but he was nice, respectful, and I genuinely feel like he tried. I had an updated drivers license and social displaying the name change, but I didn’t have the sealed document (only a copy). Side note because these factors are fun to think about: 1.) I have a valid ID I was able to obtain from PennDOT. I will mention, I did need the sealed version which I had at the time. 2.) A copy of said document was enough to update my social security card to display the correct name (I did this all by mail). 3.) I know it’s not Chase, obviously, but American Express allowed me to update my name simply by filling out a form online and sending pictures of my ID, social, and name change document (which you can’t tell if it’s sealed or not just by glancing at a picture). 4.) I receive direct deposit from my job under my new name. Funny enough, Chase bank has never had an issue with this contrasting information and my account was never once flagged. Makes sense though, right? When the same teller I mentioned earlier said she wouldn’t cash my check because my information didn’t match up, I left. I simply don’t have time or energy to plead my case to someone who isn’t skilled at listening to others in the first place and I certainly can’t convince her to do her job and help others for the sake of doing so. I do regret one thing though: I should have asked her to open up a new account under my updated name because a sealed name change document wouldn’t have been needed then. I’m certain she would have make up some excuse as to why she wouldn’t be allowed to do such a thing, but I’m sure her face would have been priceless. That’s how bright these people are."
"This branch so far has the worst customer service in Pittsburgh."
"Customer care is very bad. I need to deposit a check but forgot to bring a pen to sign. It was 5:15, I was seeing 2 bank employees talking to each other. The bank is closed, I only ask if you two can lend me a pen to sign the check and deposit via ATM. The two girls shook their heads because the lock door couldn't be opened. I went to the car to find a pen, but I didn't have it, after a while I drove out of the parking lot and saw the girls open the door and go out to go back. I don't understand the type of customer care of this bank. This is not the first time I have had a bad impression of this branch. I think I chose the wrong place to go ."
