"I paid off my car loan that I had with them from my checking account at the beginning of the month, after calling to get the pay off amount. The woman let me know that it takes a bit, but that I would be getting the title mailed. All good. A few days ago, an automatic payment got taken out from my checking account that was in the same amount my car payments had been, several hundreds of dollars, that I obviously was not expecting to be taken out of my account. Needing to go to the bank to get cash out anyways, I asked the clerk about it. She told me *nonchalantly* that my car was not paid off and that I still owed several thousand! Flustered and shocked, and wondering where the several thousand I had just paid them for my car went, the assistant manager (I believe her business card said), Jessica Brandau, invited me into her office to sort it out. After researching, it turns out that the original teller moved several thousand dollars to a savings account that was linked to my car loan account. Rightfully annoyed (how long would this have went on had I not caught it? I had over a year left on my loan, so I guess that long. And I don't often check my account seeing as we don't use it for spending, only bills, so I wouldn't have suspected that I needed to watch out for several hundreds of dollars being taken out each month without my knowledge, which eventually would have overdrafted me, and of course, the bank charges overdraft fees). Thinking about all of this, and after Ms. Brandau let me know what the person who told me my car was paid off and to expect my title *actually* did, I made the comment "What an i d i o t" - in a moment of disbelief. Ms. Brandau condensendingly, as if I was a child, told me name calling isn't necessary and everyone makes mistakes, and went on. I never raised my voice, was just in shock of the "mistake" and nonchalance everyone was displaying, and as Ms. Brandau assured me, it wasn't *even* anyone in her branch who made the "mistake." I do not care. This whole time, never having apologized, even before I insulted this alleged stranger in front of her. I couldn't believe it. Everyone might make mistakes, but where is the accountability, Erie Federal Credit Union? When your customers make mistakes, we get charged fees. I would not even be leaving this review had she, or anyone else, been apologetic or sympathetic. Maybe with your cushy management salaries, it's not a big deal to you. But for a regular person who thinks they have worked hard to pay off their loan, only to realize I would have kept being charged interest on a loan that I WAS TOLD WAS PAID OFF (the bank would have continued making money off of me from a loan they told me was paid off), with would-have-been thousands of dollars being taken out of my checking account without my knowledge, is unacceptable. I shouldn't have to babysit the people I've trusted with the money that pays my bills and supports my family. I am in the process of closing all of my accounts now. I have never been impressed with this bank, but this treatment and "mistake," and especially the apology I never received for having to waste an hour+ of my time is unforgivable. Keep a close watch on your accounts if you bank here."
"This financial institution is tops. Jim is amazing and helped me feel better about serious privacy issues regarding my account - thank you for phenomenal service!"
"The branch manager is arrogant and refuses to do her job. After receiving a promotion in the mail on a Friday for opening youth accounts I decided I would open them on Monday. Unfortunately, i was notified friday to fulfill military obligations on monday so i thought i would go on Tuesday. On Tuesday i became violently ill in the morning and figured i would wait until my oldest to get home to help with my youngest. I admittedly got to the CU at 440pm. I requested they both have an account opened and they said they would each take 15 minutes - never once offered to open one. I asked if they would honor the promotion the next day to which the snotty branch manager replied "you had all month." As if people dont have jobs during the hours in which banks are open. After refusing to open accounts for my children they refused to close my accounts. The BRANCH MANAGER threw her hands down like I child and said I'm not doing that. When I asked to speak to her manager she snidely said she was the manager and refused to give me her bosses contact information."
"Having accurate hours would be pretty cool. Traveled 40 minutes (because it says its open) and guess what? It's only drive through."
"Stopped in to complete a simple money-related task, trade a ten-dollar bill for a roll of quarters, but it was not possible to do so without a fee. On the flip side of the coin, the woman who greeted me as I walked in was super friendly and helpful to the best of her ability. Enjoyed seeing the money frog in the foyer."
