About the Business
Established in 1955 and consecrated on May 16, 1957, by Bishop Dearden, Queen of Heaven Cemetery serves as a serene final resting place for Catholic families in the South Hills of Pittsburgh and portions of Washington County. Encompassing 195 acres, it is the largest cemetery developed exclusively by The Catholic Cemeteries Association.
Queen of Heaven Cemetery boasts three exquisite chapel mausoleums. The Queen of Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, dedicated on June 28, 1981, by Bishop Vincent M. Leonard, the Notre Dame Chapel Mausoleum, dedicated on October 26, 1997, by Bishop Donald Wuerl, and the Mary, Mother of the Church Chapel Mausoleum, dedicated on November 2, 2008, by Bishop David A. Zubik, each provide a tranquil and sacred space for reflection and remembrance.
We are proud to announce the addition of two new glass niche locations: the Queen of All Saints Sanctuary and the Mary Mother of Christ Alcove. These beautiful niches offer families a distinguished option to honor their loved ones. "A very unpleasant experience. My mother was living in Florida and her ashes were sent here. As the only child I asked to be notified when the ashes arrived so I could have been there for the burial. The only call I received was to say we're sorry, but we forgot to call to let you know that we have the ashes.there we're other issues with our family plots, just to much to go into"
"My fathers grave is always overgrown The staff is rude and uncaring I have plots there they want to buy back at 2950 rates and sell at a 200 percent profit. They'll go unused!"
"Don't ever allow your loved one to be buried in the cemetery. Not only will the cemetery director the funeral home will mislead you they will tell you a completely different story and when the person is cremated they say it's the person when in fact it is actually not the person they cremate they lie they sneak around they take your money and when you get the ashes back from your loved one you're looking at nothing but newspaper. Be warned that this place is not what you think it is it is not a resting place it is more of an aggravation to have a loved one buried in the cemetery. Not only will you not get the flowers that you want on the cemetery during Easter and Christmas but you will also not get the satisfaction that your loved one is either home with you or buried in the mausoleum or in the ground. This specific Cemetery is for-profit they don't care about the deceased they don't care about the families they only care about getting the money and the proper paperwork taken care of you're doing your loved one a favor by not burying them in this facility. FYI Sarah from the funeral home that works with Queen of Heaven she is beyond stupid!"
