"I’ve now been to Limbo; t is real, kinda’ creepy, has no kneelers or visible tabernacle, and every musical note is a lullaby show-tune. Limbo is square with an architectural blend of park pavilion/hospital atrium/old mall courtyard. It is depressing and not at all like a Catholic Church—more like Jupiter. Even more depressing is the thought that maybe a truly beautiful church was shuttered to merge with this albatross, when everything happening here is exactly why the pews are empty. Typical diocesan officials, scrambling to find solutions to problems they created. I couldn’t wait to get out of Limbo, and was not surprised that the average age in the pews was 60+ during my sentence. The sterile atmosphere and awful hand-raising music should make one glance around at the lack of youth, and at least send the choir director to study Vatican documents on sacred music, or order new hymnals. There was one authentic Catholic hymn after Mass, but “Hail Holy Queen “ was wrecked by the outlaw piano, which cannot accompany this piece as an organ could, which is why Vatican II gave the organ pride of place at Mass, In fact nothing about the architecture, music or the general feel of the Mass followed the dictates of VCII, thigh the poor priest exiled to this building cannot be faulted for anything except allowing the cantor to costly raise her arms like a conductor, as though the congregation is too foolish to know when to respond."
