"If you're on the fence about a prenatal lactation consultation, do it! I thought breastfeeding would be unpleasant but Heather told me what to look out for. So I knew immediately that my baby's latch wasn't ideal. By day 3, I was miserable. If it hadn't been for my prenatal consultation, I would've probably destroyed my nipples before realizing it wasn't normal and I wouldn't get used to it. But since I knew immediately it wasn't right, I was able to schedule a tongue tie release on day 4. This immediately improved my situation and all because of the knowledge I received at my prenatal consultation. This was great because after a few days of miserable breastfeeding, I would've definitely doubted my capability without her support.
