"With the road/ramp closures and other development work ongoing near the PRT bus routes, delays are inevitable, especially on the long route like 67, Downtown to Monroeville. Every single day, 365 days yearly, PRT bus drivers bring us home safely, all the people of Pittsburgh who travel by bus. During the National Holidays, they accommodate as many passengers as they can so that we don't have to wait longer for the next bus. Lowering the bus height/ramp for the wheelchair users and seniors. While maintaining the speed in congested traffic lanes, they try to be on time as much as possible. Request stops and hand lifted up for rides are attended to. "PRT Bus Drivers" are the "Queens and Kings" of the "Pittsburgh Roads", who value our safety, our time, our comfort. Always wish the PRT bus drivers a "Good Day" and "Thank" them as they work hard for all of us. May God bless them."
"I’ve never been yelled at by more random drivers and ticket booth operators in my life. Each one more miserable than the next. Its a daily commute to just expect to get yelled at once boarding one of your vehicles. Drivers are very biased and treat passengers with the least amount of respect and care. For people dealing with the public you’d think they’d hire more compassionate people. I’m not sure why anyone would drive a trolley if it wasn’t what they wanted to do. I looked into the requirements of the job and it’s not something just anyone can go and do you have to have bus driver experience I believe so once again it just starts the bottom of the totem pole. All the bus drivers are miserable and it sounds like they just pick from that bunch of people that happen to stick around long enough. So by the time they’re a Transit operator they’re already burnt out."
"Good evening. Today on coach number #6528 (61 C inbound), the driver falsely accused me of having a firearm. She called dispatch and Pittsburgh police. There were multiple officers ( uniform and plain clothes). She flat out lied with her door open to the first officer on scene that I had a firearm.this occurred downtown .I was frisked twice, but not handcuffed. Making a false call of a firearm is a serious offense. The driver flat out said " I don't care." I truly believe this Karen ( white woman, overweight, blond hair, between mid forties possibly early 50's) falsely called the police with intention of me getting shot. I wasn't arrested and was free to go. Officers were still talking to her when I left. I contacted customer service . They were " professionally dismissive." I spoke to a supervisor. I am going to headquarters to have them abreast of their government employee. People of color ? I strongly advise do not go coach number #6528 if you see the woman I described. She is rude, xenophobic, and weaponized her race and gender by lying to Pittsburgh police with intention , in my opinion, to have a man of color shot by cops without any remorse whatsoever . She needs to lose her job. Racism is disgusting and this Karen needs to lose her job and should have criminal charges for making a false call to Pittsburgh police. This situation is far from over. Good evening."
"These bus drivers are nasty, and sad to say it's mostly the drivers of color who have the nastiest, rudest and at times really scary behaviors. Mostly males of color minus the 93 bus driver who is a white male. Race aside you need to know who's driving you home or work and your children to school. There's 0 professionalism, and it seems like the drivers of all colors seem to really hate the 54D and 54C route because they're VERY VERY nasty people and I believe bus drivers should have a 2 strike policy. They're human too and they make mistakes and have mental conditions that we're unaware of, getting mad because someone wants to get off the bus or yelling at multiple older passengers and at myself and my child for taking too long depositing our bus fare. This is INSANE. NO ONE should be allowed to treat others with disregard and disrespect, ESPECIALLY because our lives are in their hands. Perhaps they have a bad morning like everyone else, mental health days should be appropriate for all essential workers, bus drivers are essential workers and this issue SHOULD be addressed. One bus driver for the 93 even flipped me off at first I thought maybe he thought I was someone else so laughed it off until I seen him again and he stared me down. Are we safe?"
"We took the trolley and had a connected bus pick us up for open streets from a park and ride lot in town. Quick service and it was free in town. I had not been on them in years. Felt like a tourist! Fun times. Happy we have this service in our city."
