"Due to rain we couldnt have our wedding ceremony on the overlook, insted we had it at the library in one of the meeting rooms. It couldnt of went any better. The room was perfect and the workers were so friendly and welcoming to us. Highly recommend this Library!"
"Beautiful historic library that has been updated with modern features but retains the character and charm of an older building. Aesthetically pleasing woodwork, floors, and windows all provide a taste of history and create a safe, welcoming space. It is obvious that the staff is very helpful and greatly care about bringing to the public a plethora of spaces for all ages to utilize and enjoy. Fully ADA accessible with ramps and elevators. Nice outdoor areas for lunching or enjoying the weather."
"Pim had such an amazing time! We loved getting our free book and she enjoyed the train tables. The kids section and staff are truly wonderful and well made. She loves the outside tables and the crafts and pushing the elevator buttons! Thanks for having us and happy summer reading!!"
"I love this beautiful library. Aside from the beauty of the architecture, the library is also clean and the staff is welcoming and helpful. This library has something for people of all ages including a well stocked children's area. The back deck is a lovely spot to enjoy a book, and the lovely neighborhood when the weather is nice. Bonus points for the view out the front ;)"
"Mt. Washington was once known as Coal Hill, but as mining and farming were replaced by residential development, Coal Hill became Mt. Washington. In 1882, those residents came together to form “The Mt. Washington Reading and Library Association” and began raising the funds for a community library. As a result, a reading room was established in 1888. Andrew Carnegie supported the community’s effort and provided the funding to build the Library. The two-story brick building was designed by Alden & Harlow and was opened on May 31, 1900. It was one of the first of the neighborhood-style libraries built by Andrew Carnegie. Today, this neighborhood location is home to a variety of programs and services that enhance literacy and learning for all ages."
