About the Business
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Youngstown, located at 2105 Oak Hill Ave, Youngstown, OH 44507, is a dedicated community organization committed to helping children succeed through a multifaceted approach. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for kids aged 6 to 18, particularly those from the Valley's most disadvantaged neighborhoods, at little or no cost to their families.
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Youngstown, we understand that it takes more than one method to support a child's growth and success. That's why we offer a comprehensive range of services, including caring mentors from our trained Club staff, a consistently safe space, and innovative, high-quality programs. These programs are designed to empower youth to excel academically, become responsible citizens, and lead healthy, productive lives.
We are open every day after school and throughout the summer, ensuring that children have a stable and supportive environment year-round. Our Clubs are more than just a place to go; they are a place to grow. We instill confidence in our members, helping them stay out of trouble, make good decisions, and envision a bright future.
Volunteering at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Youngstown is a rewarding experience that offers the opportunity to impart valuable life lessons to the youth of our community and gain personal insights along the way. Join us in our mission to ensure that every child, regardless of income or life circumstance, is empowered to achieve their full potential.

"I love the Boys and Girls club because our children are worth our effort because they are priceless and they matter. Every child needs a safe and nurturing atmosphere in-between school and parents. I have seen nothing but all out effort and passion. The Boys and Girls club should never fall a dollar short to operate. They're a God Send in our community."
"Everyone is very nice but my kid felt singled out. She said no one invited her over and she thinks it was because of her skin color. She is white and everyone else was black."
"I would first like to say my son goes to the one on oak hill .. he was bullied once already. I had to address that because to me, it seems like no one really cared.. Some of the staff are extremely ghetto, but there are the select few who are really nice . My son was getting the feel for it in the beginning, he wasn't to sure if he like going after the bully incidence. But the turning point for me was dec 21st 2017 my son made out a Christmas list! Like all the rest of the kids , but my son never received a paper saying that he can come pick up his gift! Apparently he was the only kid who they claim didn't turn in a list! My son made that list! Mind you this happened on December 21st mind you his birthday was a very next day. I was boiling ! All the kids received 4 gifts of up to $100.. one of the kind ladies that work there did give him a gift, so that was nice of her but the minute I started asking questions everybody vanished. How could people do this 8 year old I'm not sure but thank God he already had Christmas presents home. Sadly he was looking forward to his dark vader alarm clock.."
"I really love the place and so do my kids. Today was their first day and they had so much fun"
"I work at BGCY and see how the staff works really hard to create a positive atmosphere for kids around the neighborhood. Memberships are only $7/year and theres so much for kids to do at BGCY."
