"Nice small lake. Plenty of fish. Not much open shore line to fish from."
"Bessemer Lake is an awesome place for outdoor recreation. Most people don't realize that its a quarry lake. Across the road from the entrance are a bunch of lakes, some larger, which are off limits to the public, yet not utilized. They are owned by the company which purchased Essroc. So far there are no plans to ever produce cement in Bessemer again and these bodys of water sit in limbo. A private organization has purchased adjacent land to Bessemer Lake and prevents the public from accessing our communities natural resources too. Enjoy this commodity while it lasts."
"Nice little lake for boating and fishing."
"Good boat launch. Ample parking. Well stocked trout. Decent amount of bass."
"Used to go fishing here many years ago when I was a kid with my dad. Was a great place cleared out and family friendly. Well maintained for all to use and very well stocked for first day of trout. Since I am now bringing my own son it has gone down hill. Can't walk around shores easily the stocking if the fish has to be a minimum and the boat ramp is terrible. There is a dock there but walkway is half under water so one can not get there is the water is up. I know in the past local cub scout and boy scout groups tried to reach out to help maintain or clean up brush and clean trails but no one ever got back to the group to help, very sad not taking free help."
