"Very arrogant and loud. He said a surgery was absolutely necessary for me and if I didn't get it, that I'd be calling his office 'crying' and trying to get it scheduled urgently. He literally threatened me by saying I wouldn't be able to drink anything but water or eat anything but bread if I didn't get the surgery he recommended. I'm so glad I got a second opinion because surgery was not the answer. It's now 1 year since my visit with him, I can definitely say not taking his medical advice was the best decision of my life. Please get a second opinion. *UPDATE * it's now 6 yrs since my visit with him, and I STILL continue say not taking his medical advice was the best decision of my life."

"I went into Canonsburg ER with a horrible gallbladder attack..they admitted me and took me to a room.. I had never met Dr Hammel until the next morning about 10 minutes before my surgery... He was just a wonderful man.. Completely put me at ease and even joked a bit with me.. Went over the procedure with me and my husband and told us I would be fine... I'm home now with very little pain and 4 tiny cuts.. I recommend him highly!"
