Reviews
"Old-style film house with low-to-the-ground; slightly reclining, but comfy seating. Patrons were respectful of the quiet needed to get dialog, especially from the older movie we were watching. I noticed however, that Subtitles, in the upcoming Preview snippets, were impossible to read because our seating was on the same flat surface as the seats directly in front of us. Movies shown though, are consistently thought-provoking, as was the one i attended (a James Baldwin documentary) recently."
"I love the old fashion look. As soon as we walked up too the the ticket booth my 17year old daughter said, “ WOW “. I feel like I just step back into the past. And the price is not too bad either"
"My partner and I, who live over in Lansing, were excited to visit Cinema Detroit for the first time to attend a showing of Lost Highway, until disaster struck and our transmission went out. I won't say we bought a new car just to attend... but it was an extremely powerful motivator. We not only made the show, but fell a little in love with this fantastic indie theater. The atmosphere and staff are wonderfully welcoming. They show movies you won't find elsewhere in the area. Do check it out!"
"This a great little place to go to the movies. If you wanted to take a date to the movies I'd say this is a much better idea than going to AMC it some other giant chain, unless you are seeing some super special effects film like Star Wars. Great atmosphere, great spot pretty close to some good dining options. Staff was really friendly. I went for Rocky Horror Picture so it was also fun throwing things indoors and yelling at the screen. Definitely will be going back with some friends."
"Paula and Tim are the best! Great movie opening for 'Tiempo Compartido' with special guest Sebastián Hofmann..."
