Nestled in the heart of St. Marys, PA, Apollo Theatre is a cherished local landmark with a rich history dating back to its original opening as The St. Marys Theatre on November 1, 1928. For nearly a century, the theatre has been a cornerstone of community entertainment, bringing the magic of cinema to generations of moviegoers.Our Journey:In 2009, the Lynch family acquired the historic venue, embarking on an ambitious renovation project that modernized the theatre while preserving its classic charm. With the support of the community, the theatre underwent extensive upgrades, including the installation of new reclining seats, a more efficient concession stand, and a state-of-the-art sound system. Special care was taken to restore the entrance lobby to echo its original 1928 grandeur. After six months of dedicated work, Apollo Theatre reopened its doors on May 15th, 2009, delighting audiences with special screenings of "Hannah Montana" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."Further enhancements followed, including the installation of air conditioning in the summer of 2010 and the theatre's first digital projectors in August 2012. Today, Apollo Theatre stands as a testament to the power of community spirit and the enduring appeal of the cinematic experience.Current Highlight:Join us for our current feature, adapted from Colleen Hoover's novel: "Lily".
