"Took my friends on a drive through the area and found the castle. Interesting hotel with unique features. Loved the quiet out of the way places. The restaurant looked good, but we had already eaten. A unique setting for certain."

"Highly recommend! This was such a safe, comfortable, and beautiful environment. The room was spacious, the bed was comfy, the hot water seemed endless. The dining at the copper mug was 5 star food and drinks. The indoor pool and hot tub was spacious and warm perfect for relaxing. The staff was incredibly friendly and easy to work with. I will be coming back here just to spend a full week here experiencing the castle and the local area. 10/10"

"I brought a group of 50 people here and I expect many of them to return at some point in the future. Some of the rooms in the castle are a bit worn and we had one where the air conditioning didn't work and our folks needed to be moved to another room. That said it is a stunning property with an excellent staff. We had a dinner that evening and breakfast the following morning. The food staff is amazing. They went out of their way to make sure that they met all our needs. If you have group you would be well served staying here as everyone in your group will be impressed with this location."

"The hotel was truly a beautiful place. Like many, we saw it on Hotel Hell and we really wanted to see it in person. We went for my birthday and we were not disappointed. The location was stunning, the castle was amazing, and we did all the activities including climbing the tower, seeing the graveyard, walking the grounds, and eating at the restaurant. (Do not take the coins off the gravestones if you go! My toddler helped us put coins that had fallen down back up! It was a fun activity.) Everything was fun, and the room we picked was outstanding. I recommend staying in the castle itself for the best experience and not the cottages or auxiliary rooms. Those are more for wedding venue guests. There were a few minor repair issues, and a little bit of an issue getting the water temperature in the shower right, but that's what you kind of expect from an older location too sometimes. It didn't bother us at all. The pool is pretty epic also. It has this sitting cave that my toddler basically wanted to live in. I really loved that, even though I am not much of a pool guy myself. We did have some minor service issues, mostly with the one person on staff being so busy and stressed being alone on our second day. There should really be two people there, since they offer tours which the desk staff has to do. Nothing that would take a star off the overall score. The restaurant is good, but some of the food has odd pairings. My wife said it was a French style, which is why I didn't get it. Some of it might be local style also. Just ask questions and ask them to sub things you want. All in all great experience. Anything that went wrong (including a problem at booking) the hotel made right and made us feel welcome. I would recommend it to anyone who made it this far in the long review!"

"My son's gave us a night at the MacBeth cabin as a gift. We arrived and walking up to the castle we felt that it was beautiful. We were very excited to be staying at a place with such beautiful scenery. We were a bit early for check in and they were willing to allow us to check in early and stated that it had just been cleaned but were told not to expect to check in early in the future because it doesn't usually happen. We were appreciative and then were told that the reservation was in the name of my son and that we couldn't check in because it was in his name, then she noticed that our names were on the reservation as a note. She was rude about it. After checking in, we went to the cabin and quickly found that it was not clean and had some things that were in disrepair. The chairs around the table were in bad shape. One was unusable, one the rungs had to be put back in place and one was cracked and wobbly. The hot tub had cobwebs and much dirt on the top and we didn't feel comfortable using it, picnic table was very dirty and unusable, the sleeper sofa (when we took cushions off) had food all over the bed portion, no pillow case on the extra pillow, the refrigerator had two bottled waters in it, of which, one was open and partially drank, the bathroom sliding door kept sliding back open when closed (we had to use a book to hold the door shut), and the mattress in the bedroom was so bad that we couldn't sleep on it. We ended up packing up at 3am and driving home because you couldn't sleep in it. This was a very disappointing experience both us, as well as, my son's who purchased this night for us. We would not stay here again."
